It's been discovered already.

Too bad I won't be able to experience it until March 2010! http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/sauer/angry-smiley-055.gif

HAHAHAHA. To all the PC gaming Rome fans who cancelled their preorders. It's your loss.

Seriously though. Cancelling your preorder just for a delay? That's like hating cookies because they take too long to cook.

Instead of whining about it just get it for a console if you want it so badly.

I feel sorry for the people who cancelled. They don't get to experience Rome. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

It just doesn't seem worth it to buy a console just to play ACII a couple of months earlier.

Agreed, I've got a Wii sitting around that I hardly ever play on. So yeah, buying either a PS3 or an Xbox just for ACII is a bit pointless. And yes, I know there are other 'sick' games for it. But I don't play those either http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

This is just one of many recent inconveniences in my life thus far...
I order some AC merchandise, still havn't heard from them and I don't think I'll ever get it.
I start doing Parkour, I immediately get picked on by almost everybody in proximity.
I get word we're moving to the coast somewhere and am pleased at a change of area, we end up moving one suberb over (still in the same s***hole).
And now I get word about ACII, am pleased to hear that it's coming out in November (perfect timing), re-vamp my computer for optimal performance, looking forward to reviewing it for the Forum from an AC fans perspective, and now I get word it's been moved to a really inconvenient timeframe because of "piracy issues" and making it so I'll probably have to get a whole new OS, rendering the rest of my computer virtually useless.

Okay, most of the above information probaby isn't relevant to the rest of you, but I just wanted to convey my great disatisfaction at Ubi's decision. Amongst all that ACII was probably the only thing I was looking forward to, and now it's shattered. If I didn't know any better I'd say the whole world is just out to make me miserable. Some unseen force gets up and goes "Okay, how can we make life hard for Xanatos today?"

*observes post* Sorry, rant over. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

its ok X things always get better and if they dont get better they get wros eand then once you hit rock bottom theres only 1 way to go from there up. And i would hold ur breath about ubi putting the release date forward for the PC.

I've been saying that for so long now; things aren't going to get better. The illusion of progress presents itself for a moment, then dissappears. Pretty much the only thing I've got to look forward to now is Death and it's sure taking it's sweet time... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Two things:

Why you, a teenager, should talk about death like that eludes me.

Really off-topic.

REALLY off-topic.

I was originally going to post it in the original PC Cancellation thread but Jambo beat me to it and I decided to stay on the good side of his warning.

As for death... long story. Very long.

So yeah, back on topic.

No I'm not.

It might not be the colleseum, there were several gladiator arenas across the land in the Roman empire.

Ezio_475
09-25-2009, 05:35 AM
Rome is in the game, don't deny it.the colesseum is identical to the one in Rome in real life, besides the seal is pretty much the same as the one in real life too.

jigh23
09-25-2009, 06:03 AM
ye i think it would definately be the colleseum, and we can climb everything you can see in the game as they say, which meaannnns....

well, you figure it out.

Xanatos2007
09-25-2009, 06:11 AM
They said that about AC1, and yet we couldn't do much in Masyaf fortress.

Believe it or not Xanatos, but we all have a tough time in puberty. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, but the colour scheme is different and the Colosseum is even cut in the exactly the way it is meant to be.

Xanatos2007

Eh, probably. I was just mentioning a possibility.

And puberty? What's that got to do with death? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Most Emo's get suicidal in their puberty

Xanatos2007

1: I'm not emo.
2: If emos keep commiting suicide, how come there's so damn many of them?
3: Back on topic; Rome looks likely.

It has to be Rome, because on the left side of the image, you see Castel Sant'Angelo. I hope I'm right because Rome is an awesome city!http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif

That one screen shot doesn't prove you'll be able to climb the colosseum!

Most games have some sort of unreachable background just to look nice - that part of the city could be outside of the playable boundaries for Ezio.

_______

@Xanatos, I am sympathetic but just be patient - AC2 will be out before you know it (and your life could be so much worse. Try not to take what you have for granted)

jigh23
09-25-2009, 08:17 AM
no in a video i saw, the guy said same as in AC1 everything you see in the city is climbable.. i think it was patrice who said it.

and your going to have to take my word for it cause i cant be bothered finding it.

That does really look like the Collosseum.. But, eh - what are the chances that they've been building ROME without telling us this late in development?

I don't feel like that's quite 100% confirmed yet just from that picture.

This is already said yesterday in this topic:

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1069024/m/8111076097 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/8111076097)

There you can see my post what really confirm because I compared the vatican seal with the seal on the guard's chest.

As of right now, the elite 360 is 100$ off, as well has having a 50$ dollar mail in rebate.

I would jump on that if I were you.

I mean, this game WILL be amazing and will take LOTS of your time. Is $250 too much money to have an amazing story games ( As you can buy the first for like $20, and there WILL be a third game).

Not to mention in the long run, any other games you'll be able to play on your 360.

I used to be an AVID PC gamer, im from the time of original CS and the original UT.

Updated my computer to max performance for Crysis, realized hey a shooter is a shooter and now im just over it.

Basically, I use my PC for things like S.T.A.L.K.E.R games now or those rare gems that don't make it to consoles.

Sorry for the long post, but I know it'll be torture for you to sit around here while we all freak out about how awesome the game is.

If Rome is, in fact, in the game, then governments all over the world should hire Ubisoft to handle their nation's security problems. They know how to keep a secret.

Maybe it was because I didn't visit this site when the first one was coming out, but didn't they keep Desmond a crazy secret till the game released as well?

I think the Collosseum will deffinately be climbable as the devs have said we will be able to climb everything, as well as having climbing puzzles on certain structures, which i think will kind of be like the church in Acre in AC1. I also think the Vatican will be one of these puzzles as i mentioned after i discovered the Vatican's seal on the guards chest in this thread

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1069024/m/9571020567 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/9571020567/p/21)

I can hardly see you assassinating the pope and as the vatican is an independant country, infiltration would be nigh on impossible, and by the looks of the armour Ezio is wearing, it would be at later stages of the game, maybe being the ultimate puzzle http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I was in the same boat. I was completely blindsided by the sci-fi aspect of of AC1 expecting it to just be set in the Crusades. But like you said, I didn't follow AC1 at all prior to it's release.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Kristen Bell leaked the sci-fi portion in the game in an interview though.

i think they "accidentaly" leak the desmond story info in purpose, like earlier this year when someone leaked that Desmond would be going into the animus to help the assassins

You're right. (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/5711004187?r=5711004187)
No hinted leaks about rome here. (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/4921015097?r=5251066097#5251066097)

All that meant was that they were considering Rome at the time. I've always assumed they would have it in the game so I'm pretty happy about the screenshot, but just because they were taking pictures to map out Rome doesn't mean they would decide to reconstruct it.
