got my first air to air kill against a human driven hurri MkIIb. If you are able to aim for the good stuff (engine, pilot) you can zap 'em good.

I was also able to force down two more hurricanes (no kills recorded) before i was annihilated by a direct flak hit (note: the Ki27 just explodes in a fireball)

Yep, I'm a disciple too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Its funny how it feels like a sort of flying brown-paper bag. Up until the moment you get into a fight. Suddenly its claws come out.

My first online outing I suprised myself by managing to bag three I-16's and a TB-3 in one mission. It's such a shame so few people in the Il-2 community are willing to fly early war stuff.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

With ya there feathered
Early war birdies are the best to fly imo, so much better than the late war powerwagon nuke ships.
Imo the challenge of shooting down better planes is what makes them best...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The Ki27 is the best thing to come in the 1946 addon! It's a very nice match up for the Buffalo, making for interesting on- and offline scenarios.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Been using the estimable Ki-27 quite a bit both as my new sportscar and as an AI opponent for I-16 Type 18 and I-153. I fight the redoubtable A5M in a Chinese Gladiator (J8A). Most annoyed we didn't get a flyable Claude! Late '30's aircraft my pets, too. Favorite late-war is the sublime Shiden-Kai which maneuvers like a Ki-27 on steroids---love the airplane

It'll be ten years before we get this close to a flyable A5M again http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

It'll be a while before I'm flying much of anything though now. My 'puter just went belly up in a big way. I probably even lost the Ki-27 template that I'd almost finished http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That is truly terrible news, F_IV---happened to me last year. Motherboard croaked. Yes, to have come so close to a flyable A5M and to be deprived cut to the bone. We should all start lobbying for a flyable A5M with the same energy as the Fokker D.XXI fans!
