All they have in common is the engine (at some point). Otherwise - cmpletely different aircraft. Well, if not taking in account, that they are both 1-engine, 1-seat monoplane all-metal fighter aircaraft with retractable gear and piston engine. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

They look so simular i knew about the engine but i think the global idea wasn't created by japan..
And it's good to have infos or differents opinions about this subject, I really don't know much about it.

Just look at the pictures in the thread, you posted the link to.
There are 3 completely different aircraft. And while the He-112 and He-100 do have some common things and technology, the Ki-61 is completely different in internal layout, structural design and technology. Not even talking about aerodynamics - all 3 planes have different wing and it's airfoil. They somwhat similar in appearence, but that's all about it.

you forgott the 4.brother in appearence, and realy , as saqson said, only in appearence, the MC202 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

btw , the He112 used another engine than the other 3 - a Junkers Jumo 210.
and the japanese navy purchased 12 of them as A7He1 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The Ki-61 can be confused with any number of other planes built during WWII. The He-112, the He-100, the Bf.109, the MC.202 and others (even the Spitfire possibly) could be possibly confused for a Ki-61.

Infact, the reason for the codename "Tony" was because Allied intelligence thought that they were facing license built Italian fighters. They later learned it was an original design.

The biggest difference between the He-100 and the Ki-61 has to be in aerodynamics and wing design. The Ki-61 is a very good turner for an aircraft of its power, size and weight. The He-100 I've been told would be similar to a FW190 for turns...there's a reason it can achieve that 415mph or better top speed.
