Hi one of our sqadron members Bubi has asked us in our forum to back him up regarding the bomber that he modelled

the SM 79

this is his tread at our forum

S! guys,
My SM79 has finished , the deadline has expired 2 weeks ago
so if you want to fly with this bomber you have to ask Oleg to put it in his Simulator.
I do not know if there is a Good guy who can speak directly with Oleg to ask him to accept it BUT if there is any , do it pls
regards
Bubi

So from whole pikas and italian lovers we are asking you to back us op please

to ask Oleg for putting this bomber in to the next patch or later on when BOB is out

this is a link to the bomber tech spec

Sounds intriguing... I've always been interested in those tri-motor Italian bombers. They'd make a great AI target for the new Tropical Spitfire.

Count me in, but I don't think Oleg needs a petition to tell him what he must do. He has the model: if it's good enough, I believe he won't think twice about adding it, especially given that it would complement the other Italian fighters to come (finger crossed) or the tropical variant Spitfire perfectly.

Just FYI, even if your squadmate completed the model, it does not mean that it`s ready to be accepted or included in the sim. Did Oleg see that model? Did he ask for any changes? Don`t get me wrong, i`d welcome any new plane... i just want to point it out that it`s not that easy. It takes a long time to "plug" twin engine... tri-engine is this scenario airplane in the IL-2. And that considering that model is perfect and meets all requirements.

Cheers!

Unfortuntely it may be too late. Like Ivan said its not just a slap it in and fly it. Assuming the model is perfect with no tweaks needed by the modeler it has to be tested over and over and over again and written into the code.

Its not an issue of petition or not Oleg respects us and our opinions but he is also runnning a business and has to draw the line too. Then again, he may allow it if it is flawless. Either way I'll keep my fingers crossed ya. Thanks a lot.

Ah! OK.....

That is why SaQ told me not to be too certain that the Sm. 79 was not going to make it from Harti's earlier attempt to fix the prior high poly model.....It's an all new model with perhaps pre-approval from Mr. Oleg ! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I think the Greeks had a couple of Commonwealth squadrons in service with the RAF. Mostly Spitfires and Hurricanes if memory serves correctly.

The Greek also have around 60 PZL P.24 and 9 Bloch 151, when the Italian attack them in october 1940. They shot down between 35 to 40 Italian and German AC. But this is an other forgotten battle http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

The SM79 would really be excellent. Too bad the PZL24 didn't make it. At least we might be going to the Forgotten Battles roots!!

Can the stringbag be reworked for BoB to BoB standards? I hope so - I'd love to see it. Which reminds me that I need to pull my finger out and sort out taking some photos of a Mosquito NF.II

Most Spit VCs in the Med had two of the 4 20mm cannon removed, so were just 2x20mm (no MGs). I presume they kept the other cannon for spares.

Sounds very good.. hopefully we would have a chanceto fly one more uncommon WW2 bird..
