It states that it is a problem with 66.93, no mention of other versions. There are several later versions available, wonder if they have this problem...

66.93!? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

We're allready in the 21st century, mister! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'll waste time on thinking about bugs, when I play the game, not based on a preview version.

I just put in a 6800GT and am using the 66.93 drivers...are there newer drivers? The 66.93 were the most recent I could find on the nvidia site.

I also own a 6800GT and the forceware drivers series works great. Try 71.90, 71.20, 71.25, all WHQL-certified, and you'll get a real performance increase. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

ForceWare 71.90 Win2000/XP WHQL is the latest and it runs great! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I have a 6600 GT so should be fine. If not then rolling back the drivers might also work.

Is that temp bug that i read about:

- The reported temp is too high

or:

- The actual temp is too high ?

btw i dont have a NVIDIA card but i'm just curious http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

People with water coolers have reported an increase in water temperature, as have people who have simply stuck a thermometer near the fan and measured an increase in air temp!

I guess the people with water coolers can measure it most accurately. I am inclined to go with the actual increase theory.

aha... then it IS a problem.

if it was just the reported temp it wouldnt really matter heheh

There is no major issue. I use 76.10 on Leadtek 6800 Ultra. The bug is fixed by slightly overcloking in 2D from 400 to 403MHz with coolbits. All temps will go down to normal!

What do you mean: "It runs great"? What runs great? SHIII?

My 6800 ultra with the OEM drivers 66.31 gives me over 5,000 on the 3DMark 05 benchmark test , idles at 38C CPU, 50C GPU, and the CPU temp never goes higher than 62C under stress accorrding to MBM5 log results.

All other driver versions have given me problems of one kind or another starting with 66.93 and continuing through 75.90 and performance has suffered compared to the 66/31.

No overclocking with any driver version.

My 6800GT has an ambient temperature of 39C and GPU sits at 57C.

My cpu and motherboard sit around the 30C mark as the case is just new and has built in fans in the side etc.

I€m on 71:25

a bit miffed i bought this 300 card for the game.

Wow I just tried to overclock my 6800 GT to an Ultra...

GPU at 400 MhZ
Memory at 1100 MhZ

=> in 3D Mark 2005 I reach 5000 (I got 4700 before), and, bonus, GPU temperature is 10? colder LOL

If only I could OC my CPU with the same result http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Didnt realize 66.93 drivers alreayd old.the trick is finding drivers that work with all my games..I love Panzer elite..great tank sim..and it will only avoid lockup with 44 series drivers..so I have to swap back and forth to play games..not a big problem as windows xp pro does it pretty seemlessly

Incorrect.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.84.html

Released today.

Despite the temp. bug, the temps are still WAY below anything that would damage a videocard, OC'd or not.

The 66.93s can kiss my arrogant American ***.

Has it been confirmed that any driver later than 66.93 for the 6800GT do not have this problem with this game?

Or has this issue carried on with the subsequent, later, drivers released, official/beat/and Forceware?

Someone with a early copy please confirm if newer drivers "FIX" this problem, please.
