Let get it to the next level cause what is a fantasy game without elves



Ability : swift strikers - Each time a unit take one action the bar fill out and lucky strike increase it by a huge amount. The hero can then activate special ability that help finish the battle quickly
example : level 1 Irollan embrace (all unit get bonus to luck trigger and initiative and at least one unit will get a lucky strike)
level 2 Memories of Sylanna (all unit get one time activated abilities that are in description ***)
level 3 wrath of nature (Not sure about this one but could be resurrecting a number Forest goddes so u don't sit like a duck if you failed your rush)

Advantage : Lots of support unit and good cooperation between units
Weakness : Weak can be easily killed and not a lot of flying unit. Crippled if to many unit dies early


All the units are not ranged only when hunter use ability will they be able to perform one

Tier 1 elven sentry (**This turn at least one unit will get a lucky strike**)or mandragora **Breaker of magic**
Tier 2 hunter (**Deep connection between the elves allow this unit to command all other unit to shoot at the opposite tier with a ranged or magical attack**)
Tier 3 beast master (**This unit can take control over the enemy beast for one turn except if it has mind immunity**)Griffins, lamasu, breeder, harpy, centaur, lot of stronghold creature since they could be their counterpart



Tier 4 unicorn (**Light surge trough the horn of this creature. The blinding light reduce the defense of any evil unit and cripple the others)
Tier 5 druid (**The druid can call forest ogre anywhere near an allied unit. The number is proportional to the size of the army and it can act when it is summoned**)
Tier 6 fairy dragon (**Can use a multi hit earth spell**)


Tier 7 Forest goddess (**The Forest goddess symbolize purity and communion with the earth thus giving her the ability to heal all other unit in the army at the expense of her own life** A percent is healed depending on each creature and a number of forest goddess are lost)


summoned creature (any unit hit by the forest ogre must remain in place until the ogre move) Could be Treant also

great pictures(but I can't see the picture of the fairy dragon),but I think there are too much elves,I mean 5 out of the 7 units are elves,which is nearly like the dwarf faction of H5,which was probably the worst faction of all....
I also don't see the point of the forest goddess,I mean she isn't based on any classical mythological creature and well the gods in the heroes universe are dragons.

Urgh, you've got 2 too many elves, namely, the Sentry and the Beast Master, plus IMO the Druid is one tier too high, the Unicorn and Fairy Dragon are each one tier too low, and the Forest Goddess makes no sense in Ashan. Plus the Treant/Dendroid/whatever should never be removed.

actually there is 4 elven creature elven sentry, beast master, druid and hunter u could remove 1 and u would have 3 just like in hero 5 but then again i could also post the same line up has hero 5 witch is irrational when i could just click heroes 5 icon and play it.

Now seriously my goal was to answer this question that i saw in another cool post. It was since dragon seem to be discarded in heroes 6 has tier 7 what could be the replacement for Sylvan or rampart faction. I think forest goddess look cool i know it a rough idea cause the lore is not there and should be tweaked but common people this is not mathematics its imaginary it should be fun remember what fun is. For the name i just wrote them in a pinch (I never pay to much attention to the name) you can change them if you like could be forest guardian so it is not a god.

Thank u Blue Lore for your constructive criticism. You make a good point might be too much elves and it was intentional cause i tried to designed them around the ability so everybody had to be a shooter of some sort.

By the way GoranXII how can u say druid is a tier to high when they said every unit in the group of elite or core has the same strength. I understand the point when u say fairy dragon is to low but i found dragon has number one candidate for champion redundant. I did not discard treant i just prefer forest ogre but i said it could be treant if you like right by the picture of the forest ogre

I'm more concerned about the ability cause what i like the most is playability (like graphic too) so any thought on the ability ?

And you've got no spacing between tiers 1 and2, and tiers 4 and 5, and you're still using tiers 1-7, so that could easily be just bad spacing on your part. If you're going to use 7 tiers than do, but it you're going to use 3 tiers then damn well organise it into 3 tiers, not 7 with a couple of big spaces.

Where the hell do you seen a word "famale"? this are just pictures,which appearently werent drawn by the creator of the idea so they may not reflect what he was really imagined those units.Damn famale hater...

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif you got it right im not a good drawer so i just took picture to illustrate what it could be like. i just want a better ability for sylvan the one in heroes 5 was not the best you had to kill two population of every enemy you wanted to face before getting the bonus it didn't reflect the agility or magic capability that this faction should have.

Between u and me do you really think they are gonna take the picture i put when they have the best art designer this series ever had (werewolf gonna stay a werewolf no matter how u draw it the representation is where it change but not the concept). i just want a better ability for sylvan the one in heroes 5 was not the best you had to kill two population of every enemy you wanted to face before getting the bonus it didn't reflect the agility or magic capability that this faction should have.

tier 1 guardian elf - forest guardian

elves are fighting to protect their territory and their comrades.
they will not jump into the fray in the battlefield and make pay anyone who dares to challnge them.

ability basic - upgrade (support: the guardian elves will do 5% more damage if the enemy units is attacked by a friendly one before they lanch the attack in this round)

upgrade (elven range :when the entire population of a friendly tier is wipped out this unit will gain 1 attack attribute)

tier 2 beast hunter - beast master

elves lives in the forest and they collect its fruits and hunt the animals.
however expert hunters are not catching animals just to feed their families but also to train them in order to aid them to both hunting and war.

ability basic ( hunters dagger: the hunter will throw a poisonous dagger to the target slowing his movements for a round)

upgrade (hunter eagle :the hunter will send towards an enemy range unit that will prevet his movements and vision delaying his movements for 2 rounds)

tier three elf archer - sharpshooter

elves are masters in archery.this range unit will make sure nothing aproaches the elven camps.

ability basic (double shoot : elf archer will hit twice)

upgrade (no range penalty :no matter the distance elves will strike with no range penalty)

tier 4 warewolf - guardian warewolf

warewolves are humans that were cursed by a powerfull mage as a punishments for their greed.
humans saw them as abominations and hunted them down.they run deep into the forest.
in addition to humans elves believed that they were children of mother nature so they welcome them to their forest and helped to get use to this new enviroment.warewolves will protect elves in exchange with all their might.

ability basic and upgrade (beasts roar : warewolves ask the forests wolves to aid them.
a number of wolves similar to this of the warewolves will be summoned but in exchange warewolves will loose their turn)

upgrade (beasts rage :the warewolf will retaliate with increased power after got hit)

upgrade (rough skin :as a magical creature the warewolf has increased magic resistance)

but number 1 is my favourite too.

as about mantis i just do not like a bug type in elves.what else can i say?

more important i added abilities and change some already known like blind.

i don't like it neither (i think sylvan should be about beauty and grace) but it seem people don't like a too much racial oriented faction so i was trying to propose an alternative ill think of something better eventually

On a more serious note nice post too much elves for my liking but appreciate the effort. I would just stick with hunters and druids and have a more nature themed army of beasts and magical creatures. On a more serious note nice post too much elves for my liking but appreciate the effort. I would just stick with hunters and druids and have a more nature themed army of beasts and magical creatures. My point is this i don't care about what the creature look like (even if there gorgeous they still wouldn't make it without good ability and playability) hell i even like other lineup I have seen what i care about is mechanic. I'll give you an example in king bounty for example every creature has an activated ability and some have even more plus having passive abilities. So every creature has something it can do

In upcoming heroes i would like to see an increase in activated abilities and more then sacrifice goblin. We started to see an increase of those with tribe of the east (20 activated abilities for 56 base creature or 168 if you count both upgrade which was even less before this add-on. I'm not counting spell books) What I'm saying is i don't mind having any creature but what is this creature able to do? That is what i would like to know anybody

Sorry for the long sentence but i wanted to be precise so i could get your opinion on the matter

yeah,but since h5 it looks like they rather want to give each faction a main species in h5 we had humans,demons,elves,dark elves,wizards,undead,dwarves and orcs and now in h6 we also have the naga.
So the elves will most likely be again the main species for sylvan

Two horsed creature his kinda two much but otherwise look good just would like to know what the ability disease could do

They where also two horsed creature in Heroes 3.

Plus, one in mounted, one is alone. (of course here they would be similar in power, with the diference that Pegasus riders are a fast, but more fragile unit, compared to the slower but more rezistant Unicorn.

Disease (or wound or other name): after the wolves bite, the atacked unit have lower speed, initiative and damage.

I think you made a pretty good dungeon even though I think,that the druid will be most likely the hero class for the sylvan

Is only about the name... can be Forest Guardian or other name. (also the magic heroe for sylvan could be named Elven Lord, or something).

Whatever the name, the unit should be an elite caster/shooter unit.

Full Abilities Description

Treant

- Mind Immunity

- Entangling Roots: Creature's attack entangles enemy with its roots and immobilises it. Creature can immobilise several enemies simultaneously, but the effect only lasts while the creature remains in direct contact with its victims.

- Enraged: This creature's attack increases during combat when any friendly unit dies (except resurrected creatures or creatures summoned to battlefield by magic).

- Take Roots (upgrade only): When the creature receives the Defend command, it gets 50% bonus to Defense plus ability to retaliate after all enemy attacks until the next turn.

Unicorn

- Blinding Attack: When this creature attacks the enemy, there is a chance that it will blind it in addition to inflicting regular damage. Blinded creatures cannot move or attack, but regain sight if attacked.

- Child Of The Light: (upgrade only) Any Light Magic spell, except damage-dealing ones, cast by anyone, will also be applied on this creature on Expert level.
