Good points:
1) P-63C KingCobra
2) P-38 Lightning
3) Spitfire
4) The new maps, including a new map for QMB.
5) BF-110

Bad points:
1) A lot of online games are now populated by the new jet models, mainly the Gotha and the YP-80.
2) ... not much bad to say about it. I had to think to come up with even one bad thing.

Great add on. Very nicely done. KI is a bit shall we say overdone but all and all it's a thumbs up. What do you people think of the six 50's on the p51? Too weak or just right?

Good points= Everything I liked from 1.22 with new planes, both historical and not.
Flight model seems to be back to something approaching a challenge again.

Bad points= Occasionally I have to turn it off and eat/work/sleep.

most of the jets flown online are He-162s.

That said, I like the jets and its only a bad thing if you are in a spitfire that is slower than dirt.

I tried a Gotha online, and an La-7 caught me flying straight and level. I was going slow, but the acceleration on the La-7 is just unearthly.

As for offline campaigns I think some of the AI changes have made a good campaign system better. The enemy don't always react to every situation like they are in a TnB plane even if they are not.
Same can be said of your AI squad mates. If they have altitude advantage they will fly in a manner to keep it and stick to a BnZ unless forced to switch tactics.
Damaged planes also seem more prone to RTB instead of fighting to the death. All makes for a more realistic offline scenario, IMO

Good:
1) Bf-110G2
2) more bombs for He-111 and Ju-87
3) J8A
4) G.50
5) IAR-80/81
6) P-38
7) better AI
8) better damage modeling for some planes

Bad:
1) No western front campaigns
2) QMB still has only 4 maps availible
3) Mistel doesn't work in COOP until patch
4) SPB doesn't work in COOP until patch
5) No Bf-110C
6) No Ju-88
7) No B-25

I must say you have it wrong. It is:

1) J8A
2) Fiat G.42
3) Fiat G.50
4) The maps
5) The improved ships"

I love the italian fighters and the Zero21. I wish the g.50 had a fuel guage. Otherwise, fantastic.

It's all good. With the exception of US campaigns. But I hear that BoE takes care of that. I must say, you are a patient one. S!

Another thing I should have included as it was one of my main gripes before is the spacing of the individual planes in a element.

In all previous versions your AI flight mates flew so close together I often wondered if I was playing FB or practicing for a spot in the Blue Angels.

Now in the 4 seperate Campaigns I have going the spacing seems to be more in order with what I have always read was normal there by reducing those maddening collisions that took place during course changes.

My "bad" (if you can call it that) points are :

-- Some of the entries for the new aircraft in the Aircraft Viewer were not proofread. Some entries are lacking, or even blank. The speed info for the Spit Mk.V is given in mph (so it's hard to compare with the rest of the planes in kph). Ki-84b write-up is non-existent.
-- No new training tracks (but that's just me, I have a fondness for training tracks).
-- Yes, the Mistel is unworkable as an AI aircraft, if you want to make your own missions. It flies as if drunk and eventually crashes.

The good :

-- New aircraft (almost everyone's favorite new feature)
-- Formation distance in-flight has been increased, so less danger of collisions when maneuvering.
-- AI seems to have improved.
-- New offline campaigns. And some old campaigns enhanced with the addition of the new aircraft.

It works sometimes under very specific circumstances but not all the time. Also, I'm talking about spawning already connected, not connecting at some point after spawn. Connecting after spawn works perfectly to my knowlage.

I feel the same way. I haven't had time to pick at the flight models. It looks better on my computer than IL-2 FB 1.22 or anything earlier. It does this while giving me a few more frames per second at the same time! If that isn't elfin friggin' magic, I don't know what is!

The bad point is the bug that causes some to time out while playing online. They've tried to blame it on "weak" sound cards, but most of the people having this problem according to a poll taken somewhere in these forums have Audigy cards. Blame it on the extensions, yes, but the hardware... come on! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif

Not being part of the AEP crowd yet... how many online DF servers include the jets and the 109Z, etc.?

Are there many midwar servers for decent furballs in the Bf110, P38 and Spitfire, etc.?

Cheers, Spinner

Pros:

All the new planes, including the P-63 (my favorite).
V-1, Mistel, etc.
New campaigns (A LOT of them, including one where you use the PZL P.11, though I don't know why it's Romanian, not Polish).

Cons:
This is IL2 right? Where are the new Russian planes? Otherwise, it's perfect.

Maj_Death

Russians got the P-63, TB-3 (new model) and another I-16. But other than that you are right, the VVS did get screwed in it. Most of the new stuff is for western front or the less important axis nations such as Finland (assuming you consider it an axis nation), Romania, Italy and Hungary. Thinking of which there are some real gems in those "other" nations. The IAR-81 and J8A are very nice planes.
