View Full Version : Ubi mucking up the websites...?

I apologize if this ahs been discussed before, but I've tried to search for answers and have found none.

I've been away from the IL-2 scene for a couple of weeks (as nobody's probably noticed...) and have fallen behind on all the latest gossip and whine.

Yesterday (and today) I decided to try to catch up on the "latest", and these forums are one of my stops. So, as usual I punch in www.il2sturmovik.com (http://www.il2sturmovik.com) to check out the website (that hasn't been updated in months, but that's another matter) and I'm greeted by a beige Ubi-page with a lame trailer for the new Prince of Persia-installment...with sound that almost woke the rest of the house up. I tried to go through the regular channel several times with the same result.

As if that wasn't enough, the webpage I was directed to was in Swedish (sure, I live here, but still...) and I couldn't find an easy way to access the forums. I tried to click "PC Games" and do a search for simulations (the webpage found only Playboy and Silent Hunter III), then finally I managed to sneak into the "Community" through the US webpage.

So, what's up with this? Has Ubi killed the IL-2 webpage, or am I missing something? If they don't give us the IL-2 page back I'm going to start accessing the forums by adding the forum pages to my favorites instead (as I guess many of you guys already do).

Sorry for the rant, I'm still over a week away from home and I'm starting to show a withdrawal syndrome. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

danjama:
Thanks, I guess they finally(!?) decided to get rid of the il2sturmovik.com-address then. A shame if you ask me, since the IL-2-part of this series is a lot bigger and more well known than the PF-part... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

It is all part of streamlining our processes and making all of our websites run as smoothly as possibly. You can expect many small tweaks to occur over the next few months. Thank you.
