I flew the AI G4M1 Betty Bomber from external view & dropped a 800 kg Bomb. The 800 kg Bomb destroyed most targets. I don't know what type of bomb it is but it spreads shrapnel up to a radius of 500 meters. I measured the distance between destroyed objects & point of impact in Full Mission Editor.http://web.comhem.se/~u31237230/SS0005%20G4M1-11.jpg

This Japanese 800 kg Bomb would be very good for destroying all enemy aircraft that are on the ground but the G4M1-11 is a 1 shot lighter. If you get a fuel leak, a single tracer round ignites the fuel & then you have become a flying gas bomb that will explode any time. It has a 20 mm Cannon in the Tail Gunner but there is no self-sealing fuel tanks & no armor protection for the crew.

Wow. That blast I think matches the 5000KG Pe-8! I guess thats one way of making the G4M worth trying to fly.

Engine on F4U-1C was destroyed by a single round from a 20 mm Cannon in the Tail Gunner of a G4M1-11. There were multiple hits but it was only 1 round that hit the engine while the rest hit the center fuel tank & cockpit.

How Ironic. I was in a Ki-43 doing some "testing" on the Betty. I pulled up behind to try and shoot the tail gunner dead, and I forgot to remove there ammo for this test. He hit me with about 30-40 20MM hits into my engine and it was hardly even smoking!

The Ki-43 is EXTREAMLY damage resistant vs 20MM and 7.62. Test it out yourself! You will be suprised.

The ki-43 Hayabusa should be even more vulnerable than the zero! That just have to be a bug :-P btw is there a way to make the tail gunners less accurate?

It's only a 5-10% chance that I get shot down by only 10-15 rounds fired from AI Gunners. It depends on where you get hit & some rounds go through the aircraft with out exploding & do no damage or little damage. I operate the Tail Gunner on B-25J-1NA all the time except on take off, climbing, turning, bomb run & landing. 80-90% of all Axis Fighters attack me from strait & level behind me. They're dumb enough to slow down engine power & fly at the same speed as me below 300 meters. Most of them believe that it's impossible to hit a Fighter that is already in my Tail Gun sight strait & level plus he cuts his engine power to stay behind my Tail Gunner. I record every Dogfight Mission I fly. I have the proof that I operate the Tail Gunner myself all the time in combat. Have manual control turned off in "Play Track" & you'll see everything what the player sees including when he changes position in aircraft.

I'm not among the 80-90% of Fighters that attack Bombers strait & level plus cut the engine power to stay behind the Tail Gunner. To those who wonder where I get my 80-90% comes from my combat footages. I count how many Axis Fighters from all my combat footages & count how many that didn't attack me from strait & level from behind.

As you can see on my screen shot that I was attacking from below in F4U-1C to attack the under side of the G4M1. I had a bad timing by pulling up too soon & was still inside the firing range of the Tail Gunner.
