These screenshots are from a quick mission setup. Allied and axis aircraft are mixed in this fight, so some screenshots show German aircraft attacking German Aircraft.

I hope you enjoy them!

Thanks a lot for posting all the pics of new planes and maps. I for one really appreciate it as I'll be 46-less until January.
I thought the Khalkin gol(sp) map was kind of interesting as it is, okay, well, it's just a different colour. That was sounded better in my head.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That Arado looks like a sweat ride! One sexy plane!

On that note.. I noticed that the RATO pods were still attached while flying? Do they auto jestison or do you have to manually dump them? Better question, can you load them and not use them for take off and use them while in level flight?

Also noticed the blue flame is now farhter back from the exhaust.. and it seems to vary.. Where as before it was right at the exhaust tip and didnt move.. I don't know.. I kind of like that look!

PS can anyone confirm if this Arado is the model (was it C?) that had the rear firing 20mm cannons? I saw one pick that looked like it had a rear gunsight.. Hard to tell from these pictures.. Does anyone has a pic of it actully firing its guns?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

First successful test with the rear firing 20 mms. Controls are not that easy as they are inversed and absolut static gunsight.

Now with working Picture .)<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Tag, the RATOs are "AI" and will be attached automaticly. You can't load them onto your plane manually. They also only seem to be loaded on "european" maps. I tried to fly an Arado on the Burma map, but those darn RATOs didn't show up http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Same goes for iginiting them and dropping them - it all goes automaticly (ingnition seems to be speed-related while dropping them seeems to be alt-related).

Taking off w/o those RATOs is real shaky - you'd better NOT take any ordnance (safe the takns) with you http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

So.. there is no choice in loadnig them? I wonder.. did you happen to notice if they load when you take off from a short grass runway and maybe not load when you take off from a long cement runway?

As for AI jetison.. some of those pics looked like they were flying pretty high and long.. all the old BnW photos I seen of the Arado showed them dropping off right after take off.. So the gnd crew could recoer them.. in that they were reusable.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Hyperion, the chute is not modelled.

Tag, the RATOs are normally dropped just as you described. I suspect the screenies we see above were made using airstarts. Thus the speed where the RATOs ignite was never achieved and the ingition was never initiated - therefore the pods are still hanging there (no initiation => no drop sequencer started http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif)

As far as my experience is concered, the RATOs ara always loaded (you would certainly NOT make it w/o them with EO - even on a long runway). That's mainly because the coice of armament is rather slim - you are almos always "heavy" when flying around with stuff unmderneath your plane - well except for the droptanks.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

For me the RATOs jettison in airstart mission as soon as it is started.

That happens only if you pause the game, if it is unpaused again the flames are back right at the exhaust tip as normaly.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It's a bug that's been there since the beginning - pause the game, and the jet/rocket flame jumps back a couple of metres. They are in the right place when running the game normally.

What I do is pause the game, line up camera for screenshot, set time to 1/4, unpause, screenshot. That way the flames are in the right place.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
