Livestock and horse drawn carts.

River barges.

Small docks leading to rivers and small lakes.

Neutral river traffic (small boats in rivers that don't shoot anything)

Hay harvested and cut in the fields.

Birds.(seriously - it would be immersive and AFIAK a first for a flight sim)

More civilian type vehicles.

Larger fires than airfield campfires to simulate burning buildings.

German Wurzburg radars.

German flak towers.

There were birds in the Hawaii training missions of F/A-18 Hornet 3.0

And yeah, the building fires sound great.

US fuel trucks, bomb cart trains for simulated arming at the airfields, and the tractors to pull em. British ground objects, trucks, tanks, cars, the eastern portion of Normandy was British/Canadian. Pill boxes and concrete gun emplacements that already have workin guns in them.

yeah,when i used howitzers to simulate a gun into a pilbox they only shoot at a little distance. German flak towers GREAT!!!
German U-boat bunkers!!!

I have made a German bunker complex build from a German Coastal defence ship(Stationary Ships) and Bunkers.only put the great guns vissible.

I like this topic. Allows me to bring my own specific preferences to the front. Actually I don't think the bird ideas is all that crazy.

Basically, I also want to see more "civilian" objects. How about actual civilians? Civilian cars, boats, people on bikes, animals carts, clothes on lines...

Whenever this comes up, I also like to bring up another point. Mr Oleg and crew have made it clear that the reason that they don't want civilians or people as objects in the game is becasue they don't want to get the game banned by the ratings people. To counter this and still have people in the game, I was thinking that assigning (+) points for military targets and (-) points for civilian. By doing this, you could put civilians, such as refugees, on the roads and they wouldn't be targets. Well, unless you wanted to lose points. In addition to this, you could set up specific missions like trying to take out a train convoy without hitting the cars with prisoners in them. Or how about a prison camp without killing the prisoners. By the way, would it be possible to have prisons added as objects?

I really think this would add an interesting dimension to the Sim. What do you think?

Thats definately a good idea...I understand the ratings thing and I definately don't want the sim genre to become a massively gory thing...despite the fact that war is that way what were here to do is have fun and while we want viscereal destruction of objects the other horrrors of war I don't see as a necessity.

Despite that, having more civilian elements would remind us more about what the war is about and who it affects. Even without other things that could be added...the view from a farmhouse as a pair of FW190's chase a P-47 over the landscape is something you just can't shake...its a powerful visual.

I like to see:

Closed wheels for Bf-109( no spikes)
rolling rearwheel P-51

Additional sounds for retracting and lowering landing gear and flaps.
Touch-down tyre-sounds on concrete.
Landingcraft (little) for personel.
Landingcarriers (big)for tanks etc with open bows at the shoreline.
Liberty ships, bulldozers
and a key for stopping the propellor turn in flight.

Tall Med small pine trees "conifer" in groups and individuals.

Little rundown farm/shed with resting pilots on chairs some standing looking at the sky, others reading, drinking etc

US GER RUS Tractors towing bomb skids, and single tractors with long hitch to put in front of static aircraft

mechanics scene working on aircraft.

small fuel truck next to a plane and people refueling the planeBomb stockpiles,

Hangers with open doors so we can fit our planes in and turn around.

Flag pole and flag of all nations in FB,

dogs birds new tree types, ground troops, civilian static items houses with windows that light up at night

For normandie

transport cargo ships
higgens boats
assorted tank jacks
ground troops
street lights that lightup at night for the villages

water spawn docs for the seaplanes

A bunch of things to spruce up the bland boring no life scenery

* functional windsocks

* square and rectangular airFIELDs instead of just grass strips

* trenches, tank obstacles, earthworks

* non-kevlar camo nets

* horsedrawn carts, (sans horses of course to avoid offending idiot lawmakers)

I think "objects" of running men, ground crew, scrambling pilots in emergency takeoff, etc. would be nice. I am not that kind of sadist shooting people on the ground, but a better-looking simulation showing people too. Now the gorund is "lack of" human (except the bailed pilots). So I think some runnung people will give a higher realism to the game.

Another reason is that the engine-starting seems wrong for many planes: many German planes need a man on ground to operate a crank to start the engine, which cannot be, and shouldn't be able to, start the engine solely by the pilot. So I think ground crew will bring a lot of fun to the game. (In fact I have an idea to reduce the system resources if ground crew is used: simply add an object of a building or a truck. So the ground crew get out from that building or the truck and, after starting the engines, they can go back to the building or the truck and disappear like the landed aircrafts now.) Also that will be much easier for film-making, of course.

In fact I don't expect the running people "objects" can act as fluent as Grant Thief Auto Vice City, what I expect is more moving "objects" that are controllable. I know this is very hard for Mr.Oleg, but please consider. If it is possible, that's great. If it is as good as Grant Thief Auto, then Mr. Oleg brings the entire new taste to simulations in the computer world.

Meanwhile, I think I need better hangers that are at least hollow that I can park my plane there...

Infantry. All I want is infantry units with small arms fire and I'll be a totally happy camper.
