Hey baron. I don't have the sim yet but I'm bumping the thread because I too have the 9800 256m Pro and am interested in the video settings. All the best, LongHorn

YAKMAN , what system setup are you running and how about the graphics and frame rates using Radeon 9800 pro 256?
Do you think I´ll loose too much in choosing to buy one instead of a 6800GT? (in real life, not in benchmarks)

I've used the settings from Coastie as a starting point. It's worth a look.

I too will experiment with drivers and settings in the near future.

My current setup on 9500 pro follows Coasties recommendations using Omega 4.7's, Perfect Settings in game and water=0 in conf.ini

If you're not getting enough FPS for your tastes, try reducing Anisotropic Filtering through Coastie's method. It gave me 20 extra fps with a 9600XT running Perfect mode, and an almost imperceptible image quality reduction.

Hi folx,

somehow the perfect water structures will only be displayed by 9800 if resolution higher than 1024x786 (set "water=2" in config.ini - 3 will not work with shader 2.0 cards).
But with upcoming airtraffic and flak fire my system (3GP4/1GB/9800Pro128) goes down to 25 fps..so I showed the nice water to my girlfriend and switched it off again..I'm not simulating holidays http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have a similar setup and running on perfect mode. But the horizon for me is blurry even on clear days with no clouds or fog. I have everything set to highest setting in the game so I am wondering if my ATI settings are causing this? Any suggestions?

My ATI settings are:
AA: 4x temporal
AF: application choice
Text Pref. High
Mip Map: one below high quality
VSINC: Application choice
Trueform: Application choice
z-force - disabled
Triple Buff- Disabled.

Any comments on the "Driver of Choice" for the ATI cards?

That's a known problem with most ATI cards. It should be fixed soon.

I would recommend turning off temporal AA though. Temporal AA is bad.

Use the tweaked cat4.5 from checksix-fr.com, it solves most ati issues with perfect mode

Hey guys, I have a new tweak guide for PF. You can find it at Airwarfare.com HERE. (http://www.airwarfare.com/tech/graphics.htm)

It includes screenshots of the Cat Control Center, my system and PF Setup.

Please be sure to read all the text too. Don't just look at the pics!

Hope this helps!
