Hi everybody. I try to make real an idea that I found in another thread in this Forum but I´m currently stuck. I try to construct a vibrating seat to work with the IL2:1946. I ebayed (8€) a Trust vibration Rally Master driving wheel, threw everything away except cables, motors and electronic and I try to install it at my system (win xp home). The connector is gameport. Normally I can install it (windows drivers) as 2 axis/4 button joystick but then my normal joystick doesn´t work (Logitech Freedom 2.4). In this case the FF doesn´t work correctly. Anybody maybe can help me with this?? Until now I had an Logitech Driving Force wheel connected (I used the pedals as ruder pedals) but if I turned the FF on ingame at IL2 I had very good vibrations when firing guns or turning tight. So how could I do this thing work? Many thanks in advance.......

Carefull... some people might just fire off their guns or stall continously, for no good reason other that to ..... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hi, Spacefrogs!

Wouldn't it be easier to get one of these?

Butt Kicker review (http://www.ifcglobalnetwork.com/review/kicker/kicker.htm)

Talk to Bearcat. He has one.

Of course, if you just want to build one . . .

The buttkickers are a must have IMO, however they do not provide rumble effects for stall warning. For that I use a USB rumble gamepad and attach it to my joystick. In your case you could mount it to your seat. I got mine for 15$ on ebay. The buttkickers WILL give you feedback for your guns/explosions and you will now feel the engine purring, how cool is that?

Could it be the Logitech stick is now the secondary controller in Control Panel, Game controllers?
(As in: previously the Logitech stick was the first, and the Logitech Wheel second. Now the Trust wheel has become the first...)

If so, you will need to re-assign the control axis' (under HOTAS), and the controls assigned to the buttons on the Logitech sticks.

Read this: Tully's guide on sticks (http://www.airwarfare.com/tech/sticks.htm) (there's a section on 'I added a second controller and'..)

Good Luck!

I will give it a try FoolTrottel, thanks for your help. Although I also thought the option of Buttkicker, what I don´t like in this device is that it reacts through sound, not really a FF effectc. I don´t wanna feel the sound bass at my chair, I want to "feel" the aircraft, just as in reality. If I won´t make it with this one I thought of ebaying an identical wheel as my previous installed and then try with that one. I´ll keep posting....

Wow, that's a challenge... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I'm using two 'Bass Shaker Butt Kickers'
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v668/fooltrottel/buttkicker.jpg
mounted in a wooden chair, connected through a normal (audio) amplifier, (have yet to find the optimal line out from my 5.1 soundcard) and together with an FFB stick (Guillemot) it adds to the immersion of the 'feeling of flight'.
Seat rumbles with engine and gun sounds, as well with hits... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Well, I came up with a simple yet very "convincing" solution. Until a find a way to build and install the Rally Master into a "vibra seat", I just attached the Driving Force wheel, which as I already said works perfectly, on the back of my chair with the table clamps!! With the FF on it gives some really good rumble effects, although kind of noisy, due to the wheel movement. But it shakes!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif
