Since the release of IL2, I have made 4 full-price purchases for the same game engine.

Now I am considering a 5th purchase of the same game engine.

Which of the following describes me?

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">
______ _____

+-.-"" "-..,____________/7,.--"" __]-----+

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

BOE doesn't have the "engine" in it, it's mostly a campaign generator

however, what counts most is not the engine but the stuff that you see, the game you play.

There were plenty of games with quake 3D engine, and people who bought them happily did so...

Don't compare the two. You get a new game when you buy MOH, or some other quake-engine game.

Its not the point.

The point is, I've supported the franchise. $140 spent on the same game. I'm done.

I voted "twit", but that may not be true, since I don't know you. But "twit" was a nice choice IMO.

$140.00? I've spent ten times that on the rig to play the games. What's $140.00?

So true... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Actually though Baldie...you only spent the money once..... IL2 is not the same engine as FB.... It is slightly different.... AEP is not an engine... it needs the engine to run. Boe..... missions & campaigns.

http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/v31/Talus/p63-3.jpg <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>Funny aint it! Be real funny if it wasnt so sad.. In that what these add-on whiners are really whining about is about $10.00.. In that an add-on typically runs about $29.00.. And a stand along game around $40.00

$40.00 - $29.00 = $11.00

Like I said.. SAD.. really Really REALLY SAD! And even more so, like you pointed out, When you stop and consider they had to spend $2500.00 for a PC just to play games.. Are these people for real?

I don't regret a dime I've spent on this game and I have IL-2, FB, AEP and BOE.

I'll buy the Pacific Fighters version too and I don't even like the Pacific. This game is simply too damn good to pass up even one version of it!!!

i bought a new computer to run IL2 when it came out to fly online with my squad. was it worth it? its one of my favorite hobbies so yes. worth it for sure. any hobby you pick youll end up spending a few thousand bucks on...

i play paintball. if you want a decent paintball gun its 1000 bucks. a great one is 1500 bucks...plus electric hopper 120 bucks....good air system for gun 250 bucks . a case of paint and entrance to paintball for day including airfills is 60 +20+10 if you get a good deal on paint and entrance plus food its 100 dollars per day to play paintball. p.s. you still have to buy a couple jerseys and paintball pants and cleats... first day of paintball for good equipment is usually about 1700 bucks if you have good equipment.

or you can buy cheap equipment but thats like playing FB on a pentium 2 and no one wants that.

and dont get me started on scuba or hangliding or mountaineering backpacking or motorcycles or mountain biking....any of those sports is 5 to 10 thousand to start.

now about that 140 bucks....even if you work at mcdonalds that 140 went a heck of a long way for entertainment value.... need i say more ?

I've bought and still have quite a few games that I don't even play now on XP. Do I regreat getting them, the answer is no.

What does p*ss me off is buying Battlefield Vietnam by EA Games and not being able to play it on the computer I have now. And it's way above the minimum specs specified to run BFV. It won't run because of my GF4 MX420 that everything else runs fine with.

So Baldie, you're not stupid at all. You're only in the same boat as the rest of us. We buy them because of what we hear about all of these different games and we love em. None of us would do anything different, not even you. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

So.... you need to add 1 more catagory to your list..... NORMAL.
