Why is teh german gunsight off center? this is really irritating! I can't shoot down anything when I look straight ahead in the cockpit. The only solution that I have come up with is to close my left eye and then lean way out to the right of my monitor. I can then see okay through it, but it gets really uncomfortable. It is either do this and live in total discomfort....or I could do this the easy way and press shift f1 for a more ergonomical firing solution?..... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I think Shift+F1 may be the better option http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

FlatSpinMan, concerning Your sig, I always thought of broccoli being the foliage that the farts hid behind when waiting for unsuspecting victims to appear, and only then springing into action with a mighty roar!...okay, that's weird and I admit it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Phew, Messaschnitzel - had me worried for a moment there mate! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Sweet fanny adams, I swear there's a conspiracy about these German gunsights. Does anyone know how many threads they have starred in?

My estimate: 666

Just because you're paranoid doesnt mean there ISN'T someone out to get you.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Suggestion to mods: A install a program that searches for and deletes any post with the words "German gunsight" "weak 20mmm" "UFO" "problem" "uber +<insert plane name>" "porked" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I wonder how many "engine overheat" messages this post will generate?..heh! I have seen so many of these posts and the subsequent reactions to them that I thought that I would pull a few chains to make people laugh and post a hokey one myself. The next one is: "How do I get teh stubid cork outta the sight tube of teh KI-43?...I NEED HELP!!!" Seriously though, coming to this forum on a regular basis has helped me greatly, no doubt about it. Usually if I have not seen the answer to my question in the daily posts, then it will most likely be in the database. If I did not know about this forum I would be happily spinning out all over the sky in the original IL2 game without any patches and wondering WTH to do.

It is just jaw-dropping...

This sim is essentially three years old...

Ctrl-E will solve all your problems http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I usually don't bother with Ctrl-E. If I really panic, I hit ctrl-alt-del for a fast exit from the damaged aircraft/auger that is on its way down. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

When you get shot down and cant bail out and the plane is about to hit the ground then press P.

Then take all the time you need to pray before hitting the P key one more time. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The fact that ever since the game first came out I am still learning something new about the different aircraft's peculiar habits is why I am still playing this game. I used to play other flight sims off and on and then lose interest in them, but not IL2 w/Aep and PF. Even now with all of the planes available and the limited amount of time I have available to practice, I have more than enough to keep me busy for a long time to come. When the new plane set comes out I will sink even deeper into the IL2 quicksand and will be perfectly happy with that because there will be even more stuff to practice with. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif On the flipside, I am sure that my wife will think otherwise: http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

How many of you guys who bothered to open the thread (which we all knew would be about shift f1 before reading it) with the sole intention of bashing Messaschnitzel actually bothered to read his entire post?

Sense of humour transplants required for several of you I'm afraid... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
