I finally learned how to take screenshots, but when I go to open them, a box pops up and says something like....

Cannot open this file because we don't know what program created it.

Then you have to pick from a list or go online to find it, but i can never get it to work.

Does any one know what to do? I have windows XP if that helps.

could be me, but I think you ought to try converting the screenshot to a jpeg or something like that. Usually, any kind of photoediting program will let you do that.

The screenshots are in Targa format *.TGA - convert to JPG or use a program that can handle targa files (like the free www.irfanview.com) (http://www.irfanview.com)).

Type IrFanview in your google its a freeware DL, then just open up your Ubi Forgotten Battles folder. Your sceenshoots will be all the way at the bottom listed like this.. grab0000.tga..grab0001.tga.

Just drag it and drop it on the Irfan icon on your desktop. You can do several pretty cool things with it then like Black and white or even render it like a oil painting, then save it to a documents file.

i HAVE to reply here as im a screenshot LOVER !!!!!!!!!

& i try to share info on this subject whenever i can

when you hit printscreen the screenshot is saved as a TGA file in your FB folder

you need some sort of program to open & view TGA files as windows wont do it on its own

now i have seen many many screenshots all of different quality opened by different programs

but the best quality ive yet seen is done with .... IRFANVIEW

www.irfanview.com (http://www.irfanview.com)

it FREE

its EXCELLENT

its a viewing tool , it will open all sorts of files , i have it associated with TGA files only but it will open all sorts of files

when you open the TGA file you can then save it as a JPEG & the size isnt reduced too much (unlike someother programs) but it wont be excessivly large in Kb's

i cant reccomend IRFANVIEW enough as its excellent

well dang.

And I've been opening Paint and then pasting to see my screenies.

Each time to hit printscreen when playing does it save a new shot with a new name?

It will, but it resets every session. That means that if you don't re-save them under a new name after you're done playing FB, then they will be over-written the next time you're playing and hit "PRTSCN".

Edit: I may have this confused with tracks saved by hitting "record" during a mission, called quick0000N or something like that.

S~

Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro 7 can also handle this aswell and can also be used to edit your pic. And remember that the main FB folder holds your last 10 screenshots.
