i'm just gonna break down and build one of these. i'm tired of not being able to fly as much as i used to.
So i need the downloadable drawings to give to the cabnet shop so they can make all my cuts for me. IN Inches please. not metric.
I know their floating around out there some where but i juts cant find them. TX Squad used to have them on thier site but not there now that i can find.

I've been thinking about building one too but in all the images it looks like the monitor is far too far away to be able to read any gauges accurately... how simple would it be to edit the plans to move the front console section closer to the pilot?

Here's a pic of my pit again. I use a moview mounting arm mounted in the middle of the tabletop on the front section of the pit to swing the arm closer to my face.

The 20" monitor is literally 26" away from my face once I'm "scooted' into flying position...

I also have my pit seat on one of those office-chair mats that facilitates it sliding in and out (much easier since it would sit on carpet otherwise). additionally, I have one of those Ratchet gaming chairs ($50 on sale at Sports Authority of all places) that turns the squared off wooden seat into a comfortable bucket seat without any alterations.

Well CONSIDERING...that my monitor is a 32" wide screen LCD HD TV that is sitting all the way across the living room....anything close would be an improvment. this is just s temp fix till i can get my welder buddies to fab up my steel framed pit. right now the problem is that
1. i'm to far away fromthe monitor.
2. no where to put controls/ mouse ect. i had the bright idea that it would be "COOL" to sit in the Lazyboy and fly. one problem. everytime i firewall the damn throttle quadrant it falls off the arm rest. jerk the stick..it's on the carpet & i'm a lwan dart. the is amplified after about 5/6 Lee-Wisers. ;-) A pit is needed.

and thanks for the help guys.

its simple to change the length of the seat unit (by cutting)

i dont know if its intentional by by initial plans, or it was something i did inadvertently...but the front table where the keyboard is *cut out area for legs) the cutout..is slightly wider than the edges for the seat, so the two halves slide into each other quite a bit.

i have to get into the pit like an indy car driver. not something iw ant to show on the net. no.. i have no life. :P
