I don't like in Il2 series planes on large distances are black dots no matter of its camouflage. It's a pity because flying high makes you more visible to low flying people http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif I hope this "feature" won't be in BoB. Anyone has better info ?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I hope so too. What might be great was if you could control the size of the dots at various ranges, also for the resolution factor as well. The dots would more immersive than icons, yet almost as visible.

I think it would be better if the dots were not drawn as the categoric two pixels (or how much were they?) but rather there was an option ingame to put in the real size of your monitor, preferably in inches in the diagonal.
The game then would calculate the actual size of the dot on the monitor at the actual resolution.
The dots would then be the same size on every resolution and monitor. Since with that feature the dots can change size, they could finally have the right size at the right distances, unlike now.

Further the dots need to change color when viewed against the sky, the earth and at angles.
A nice feature would be blinking of canopies and not overpainted metal-fuselages in the sun.

Hello,

I am thinking of buying a Radeon X850XT graphics card as they are fairly cheap at the mo. I would like any opinions on this card with regards to how it runs PF. At the moment I am running a very average GeForce 7300LE.

I have got a dual core P4 3.2GHz chip and 2Gig of DDR2 ram.

Thanks

Does any flight sim have a better "dot system"? Maybe like Klemm describe it.

It just came to my mind that this feature could be used as an exploit. If you would put in an lower than actual diagonal, the dot would be bigger than it should be on that monitor and thus would be easier to spot. I think this needs some work.

And on smaller monitors this system would be not practical. Thats because on them the dot would be too big in relation to the rest of the game world, (if the real diagonal in inches would be put in) although i dont know if that would be very noticable.

Lets see, maybe we get some proper in-game shot of BoB earlier than we think. Maybe then we can see if the dots are modeled good already or if we need to, ummm... push Oleg to make them good. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
