I care. And why post a release date only to disqualify it with an apathetic post? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

There are lots of reasons why many people are waiting for the boxed version on the shelves.

Yeah, We got When Tigers Could Fly pt 2 campaign by cid to look forward to.

Playing Ice Fire's Green Hearts campaign.

So........ I care and hope those who don't have IL2 '1946 yet finally get a chance to get it now and have FUN!

BoB will be here. Not releasing IL-2 1946 won't get it in our hands faster.

Can I assume from the many threads here that some (or all) of the issues with "wobbliness", and AI that can climb forever in 4.04 are largely cured with 1946? And also that it includes all the aircraft/missions/campaigns from fb to pf?

Does 1946 install as a merged installation or only as a standalone?

The Il2 1946 DVD contains almost everything. All you need to add to it is patch 4.08m. It does not merge with any Il2 you already have on your PC. If you have any missions or special skins you you want to keep then you will want to transfer them over to 1946 and then you can uninstall your old stuff if you want to.

It "seems" that there is less wobbling to me but I have not had 1946 long enough to be sure.

Thanks Berg.

I read in a post somewhere that the Corsair was essentially crippled in the 4.07 patch (I believe that comes with 1946). It was made much more prone to stalling out and it's turning ability reduced. Plus, the poster said it's hard to get the Corsair off a carrier now.

The poster said he would go back to 4.05? How do you get that patch without purchasing 1946? And has anyone else experienced the same trouble with the Corsair in 1946?

Oh! And is there a F4U-4 in 1946? (hope,hope)

4.08 patch is for '46 only, I cant see any great reason why someone would fly 4.05 over '46, I've actually been flying Il2 a lot more since the release of '46

At great personal danger to my own person (Lynch mob will be here any moment) I'll say take what you read with a grain of salt, I am having a hell of a time getting used to the feel of the sticks in planes I have a lot of time in (especially the Zero) but on the other hand I'm rediscovering the energy fighters. I think the big, heavy, powerfull planes are way better now E.G. the P-47 and the P-51 are wonderfull now, but you have to fly them right, if you put around on the deck in one of these things someone in a 109 or a zero (like me) will come around and spank you for sure. If you stay high and fast and get good at high closure rate shooting (which aint no picnic) you will Pwn the Sk1. (P.S. I include the F4U in the above catagory, along with nearly all of the American planes [and the 190])
