Has anyone seen this film yet ? This is not a thread about Leo Di Caprio or how the movie stinks or not. Just as with Pearl Harbor, I'm interested in the flying sequences. What sort of aircraft appear on the film and are they CGI or actual flying verions. Any warbirds ?

Supposedly, the movie is EXCELLENT. There are apparently a lot of excellent flying scenes, and DiCaprio is said to be a great howard hughes. I believe I saw a P-38 in the trailer...

As fast as the trailer was going, with different scenes crammed at breakneck speed, I was able to make out the 'Spruce Goose' also. Of course, that is a must for this movie, although, for dramatic effect Scorsese seems to have it fly higher than it ever reached in it's historic flight.

Yep The H4 Hercules is in there (CGI) as well as the XF-11 (CGI and models) and the H1 (CGI and models). Many little semi documentaries kicking around on TV at the moment re this movie. Looks really, really good.

On August 4, 2003, while attempting an emergency landing in Yellowstone National Park, Jim Wright veered his Hughes H-1 replica away from people on the ground, guiding the aircraft to a point that would present no danger to anyone else. The aircraft exploded on impact and was completely destroyed. Jim Wright did not survive.

Looking forward to seeing it. Some of the scenes were filmed in Montreal in the house where my brother lives.

What a ******* house! Got drunk there once. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
