Hello been reading up on this game and well is it just the second half of assassin's creed 2 or is it supposed to be assassin's creed 3? Any one got any ideas?

Welcome to the forums. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Brotherhood is an addon/expansion pack to AC2, it's the continuation/conclusion of Ezio's story, and the continuation of Desmond's.

IT. IS. NOT AC3. This has been stated dozens of times before, and even stated by the Dev team.

AC3 will feature a different ancestor and be in a different time, that if it doesn't focus entirely on Desmond.

Wrong. It's not an addon or an expansion fact. It is a complete, new, $60 (in the US) game, that you buy ON A DISC.
There's a crucial distinction.

Like other members have stated, AC: B is a complete game just like AC1, AC2, and the other spinoff games.

brotherhood is to AC2 what bloodlines was to AC1

also @sbredflag, just because it comes on a disc doesn't mean it's not an expansion, all the sims expansions come on discs

Does anyone NOW see why I've been saying UbiSoft is confusing people with the naming of this game?

For some reason, I doubt it. By the way, don't bother insulting me... it doesn't affect me and won't stop me from making the point every time someone asks the question.

Also, don't bother trying to insinuate it's just me making another account. The forum admins can, and most likely will check, and determine it's not.

That's the difference between you and most other people. There might be some confusion but once they realise it's not AC3 they move on. Mainly because they have better things to talk about.

You just harp on about it constantly, we get it... you're scared of things that break from the norm because they confuse you.

Don't worry though, there's plenty of other people here to keep things moving along. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I think the best way for you to look at it is that it is just Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

Yes it's the third game in the console series but it's the 5th or 6th game in the overall series.

It's a completely new game with the name Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

So

AC AC2 ACB (in the future AC3)

OP: they decided since ac2 had such an unclimactic end for ezio, they wanted to give him a proper send-off. it doesnt hurt to drag desmond along too. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

AC kind of did too. Personally think it'd have been better Dessie-wise to end AC with the start of AC2 (spoiler: with his escaping Asbergos lab). I suspect they always wanted to extend Ezio's story but ran out of AC2 disc space.

Not exactly. They discovered Rome was so big that they should make it into a completely different game! I don't argue though. Doesn't make AC2 so long it gets annoying and it gives us more story and an extra game with more stuff!

The creators have made it clear that it is neither ACIII or AC2 part2. But really it is just ACIII. I mean would you call Quantom of Solice Casino Royal part2 or would you call it Bond 22?

The developers have stated that a numbered Assassin's Creed game is when they introduce a new ancestor of Desmond. They received a lot of positive feedback on AC2 and felt that the fans might want to know more about Ezio.

You have to admit that they left Ezio quite abrupt in the Vault at the end. Besides, don't you guys want to know what happen in the rest of his life? We know that happened to Altair, thanks to the Codex pages and the spinoff games. So to answer some fan questions regarding Ezio's life, they created AC: B.

I can bet this was thinked as a DLC before the multiplayer component was made. As they manage to make multiplayer the had the excuse to upgrade this from DLC to a Stand Alone Expansion and charge for more.

Too big for a dlc. Nuff said
