personally not shown would be my choice, then it leaves it up to you to image the details of his appearance as whatever you want.

also, the type of image the other pics of him shows dont really suit showing hair. bearing in mine the hood, he would have to have ruddy long hair for it to be seen.

I don't know, in keeping with the realism his hair should be black. He's Muslim (correct me if I'm wrong), and I don't believe there are many Aryan muslims out there in the 1100's.

I said red. Just to stand out. Chagning the subject a little, why does a assassin wear white?

So he can wash the blood of easier. Washing black or another dark colour is too much of a pain to wash.

I say either black or dark brown. That way it will look cooler with his green eyes I belive. I don't think however it will show his hair.

P.S. brusle, it's spelled wore. Leave out the extra h. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

black or very dark brown, not blonde, because then it would be a natural collour, more realistic

BLACK! definatly black, so it would clash with his white cloak http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

It should be Black and kinda wet, not smooth, fair and soft like he has been using Head & Sholders for a few months. kinda dirty, scruft up long hair...kinda like The Prince.

But come on its just hair, if he's bald its not going to change the gameplay of the game or the affects of peoples oppinion to the game.

not really, he'd look goofy with red hair http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif I think it should either be dark brown, or... almost no hair at all.

There is no way Altair is bald. Most people here have the most obvious choice which is black, but I think they'll throw a wrench in things and his hair will be blonde.

i just don't understand why anyone even cares about his hair color. it just seems so insignifigant, it's not going to have an impact on gameplay. there's just so many cooler/ more relevant things about this game to talk about...

Well, I mean... Being bald might actually make him more aerodynamic and increase his movementspeed.

I think the right shade of blonde might work, like a dirtied blonde a bit. But to fit in more with the crowd I think he would have black hair.

Aaaactually, they kinda did. Henna was used to dye the hair orange/red and it was also used to dye fingernails (which is what I have on my left nails at the moment... go figure). The game is set at the end of the 12th century! *runs out dodging old cabbage and tomatoes*

I just went back and read Issue 158 of Game Informer that had Assassins Creed as the cover and it said that his name Altair in Arabic literally changes into Eagle, and quote "We took that as a reference for all his moves looks and attitudes." This might mean that his hair might be white like the eagles, or it might just have to deal with his cloak and hood. Just a thought. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I don't count centuries in the American fashion, and red dye has been around for 4000 years, it's an easy color to find from roots and plants in nature, I was more referring to silver grey.

And FableB, don't worry too much about it, people never learn, thats the harsh reality.

Well if his left ring-finger was cut off 'cause it might block a knife. I think it's safe to say he'd be bald so the hair is not a distraction.

Out of curiosity, what system do you use? The "American fashion" (which has been around since before the US was established as a government) is pretty standard in english speaking countries (like CE and BCE), so I simply assume that you would use the english-speaking method while... well... speaking english.

As for silver hair, you don't necessarily have to dye. Some people just have prematurely gray hair. It's a stretch to say that Altair would happen to have it, but he IS a fairly special guy.

Many red dyes which were available to early man won't keep in the hair, which is why henna (Lawsonia inermis) is specifically used.

Don't think he will show us the colour of his hair . So i go with Bald/Not Shown .

Somehow it's like the prince's name , it keeps you wondering what haircolour is it.

I count the centuries forward starting with the one we're on right now, not the one we'll get to in 100 years.

Red
Why would you say that? He's just one of the many... Take you for example, to you, you're special, to random person #43 you're no one in particular, just one of many people he/she sees during the day... It's all relative, and Altair wasn't someone special in history, just one of the many.

terminalShock09
09-06-2006, 11:29 AM
The system of counting centuries comes from the fact that we start at 0, not 100. You count all the years under 100 as their own century, so once you get to "1", it's already the 2nd century. Suit yourself, I guess...

I meant he's special because he's a character in a video game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif. How many times do people question the probability of Lara Croft's hotness? She's hot because she's a special character.

Um... Altair's hair should be black!

wouldn't it be logical if he changed his haircolour to easier adapt and blend inot a crowd or a city? for instance; in a arabian city not ruled by the crusaders he would use a dark hair dye and in the very heart of the crusaders rule he would use light or brown dye to easily pretend to be a crusader or european, therefore not so easily suspected.
