I'm going to get Track IR. Track IR 4 is 100, and to get it with Track Clip Pro is an extra 25. I'm not entirely sure what it is or why I need it.

As I understand it, Track IR is a camera-type thing which clamps to the top of my monitor, and a baseball cap with a bunch of sensors on it. I wear the cap, and when I move my head the camera senses this.

Track Clip Pro seems to be a sensor that clips to my headset. Does that mean I can do away with the cap and just wear my headset with sensor? Does it have any other advantage? Will it fit my Medusa 5.1 headset?

Thanks!

The track clip pro is good if your using a headset/mic I guess I dont think the led would be more accurate than the normal track clip,I dont see any other advantage, personally I prefer the cap,I hate wearing headsets.

IMO it isnt worth it.. the hat clip works just fine. I bought a pro clip, even bought a set of headphones that would accomodate it.. and never could get it to work right..

The track clip pro is an active source of infrared radiation that clips on to the side of headphones and this IR signal is picked by the track IR sensor.

I use the track clip pro, but have also used the thing that clips onto the hat, there really isn't much of a difference that I can tell. I use the track clip pro because it works well with my headset and I'd rather not have to wear a hat while playing. I've also had that thing that clips onto the hat fall off a few times while playing.. you know, go to take the hat off to scratch the nogging.. next thing you know your on your knees looking under your desk.

Theoretically, because it doesn't rely on reflection and the active sources are spaced further apart, the track clip pro should be more accurate, but in practice I don't think that this is the case. Also, because the track IR is transmitting an IR signal in the case of the thing that hooks onto your hat, there is the potential for something that reflects IR waves to also send a signal back to the receiver, degrading performance. This didn't happen for me, and I doubt its a big issue... just grasping at straws to justify the use of the track clip pro http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Since I wear a headset always when playing so that sound from the speakers doesn't bleed into the mic (I hate it when people use teamspeak with their speakers blaring), I always use the track clip pro, is it necessary? Probably not..

Been using the TCP for a while now.

I'll never go back to a hat.
Bad manners to wear one indoors.

The clip is great. Much better than those geek-antlers. What price dignity?

When i used to wear The leds on a baseball cap my wife would point and laugh at me and take pics on her phone so her friends can laugh to.

I now use the track clip pro ......she still laughs, not as much.

You can quickly stop her from doing that m8,
take a photo of her before she puts on the makeup first thing in the morning. Guarantee she wont send any more pics. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Maybe they should do a premium version in a flying helmet.

We'd still get laughed at, lol. Little tip, don't get up to answer the door and forget to take your track hat off, lol.
