I'm replaying AC at the moment and I have a question regarding the voice that is heard just before the guards attack you. Namely: whose voice is it and does anyone know what they say?

It's Alta´r, who says things like: "Have at me."

Here's a YouTube vid with all of them and their translations:

Ah awesome. I thought the only time Alta´r speaks Arabic is when he says Nothing is True...

On a side note, does anyone have "nothing is true, everything is permitted" in arabic characters? I can only find the romanisation of it. Another side note: does anyone have any translations of what the guards say when you fight them/when they are in an informed patrol? I cna translate some French/German ones, but I know nothing of Arabic http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

(also, lol @ "you have my gratitude and respect" "*beep*k you")

It's weird, there are various languages spoken in AC but not Hebrew or even Yiddish.
Maybe there is Yiddish but I don't know because I don't know how to speak Yiddish.

I do speak Hebrew though.

Yiddish is Germanic isn't it? So I don't think they'd speak it in that region. Perhaps Aramaic is spoken? I'm not sure as to the age of Aramaic though. Although, apparently, there is "modern Aramaic", so I assume that it would have been spoken during the crusades.

I've heard some of the guards also speak Turkish too.

Yeah, Yiddish is a combination of Hebrew and German.
If I'm not mistaken, Yiddish was spoken by Jews throught Europe and Hebrew was spoken only when they prayed.

It's plausible that they have spoken Yiddish during the crusades but I'm not sure.
