I'm trying DCG for the first time and I can't get it to switch off the Pacific Island palm trees. Doesn't matter if I check or uncheck the palm trees in options, they still show up and cause stutters. Any tips?

It's the latest version of DGC and 4.08m.

How about the "forest=x" in conf.ini. Memory tells me to set to 1--you'll have the basic "sheet" forests but no individual trees.

I gave that a try but no luck. Thanks for trying though http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Then try forest=0 and see if *that* does something. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif If no change, them I'm wondering if DCG actually "takes over" some conf.ini settings? Hmmm... that would seem a bit strange to me.

You can not get rid of the forests of Palms on that map.

Erm... I've flown QMB missions on the Pacific Islands map, with and without the palms . That was a fair while ago, and all I can recall with certainty was that the smaller islands definitely could have their palms "stripped." Do you mean that the larger islands effectively have vast tracts of "locked" palms? I'll have to try this next time I fire 'er up!

Ahh, I didn't try that http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif, I'll give that a try and see what happens. Cheers.

@ Coastie...DCG has an option to swith off palm trees on pacific island map. Now, this is the first time I've tried DCG, so maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can get it to generate campaigns, so I assume I've got it installed properly. Here's a copy and paste from the Read Me...

"Island Palm Trees: if checked, the "Pacific" island will have palm trees (and poorer frame rates). If unchecked, the island will not have palm trees."

Please excuse any spelling mistakes or bad grammar, I've been drinking heavily and it's 4.30am here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. I'm going to try Forest=0 and I'll post back. Cheers.

Still no luck with Forest=0....bummer. Thanks for trying though.

@ Lurch...so you have had that map running without palm trees, yes? I must be doing something wrong.

Try changning it, and making the conf.ini a read only file. That's what I have to do to get my resolution to stick.

This setting only applies to 'the "Pacific" island' map and not all pacific maps.

'the "Pacific" island' map is the small generic dogfight map with an airfields in the NE and SW edge and a small half-moon island between them.

From this map there exist 2 versions, one with palms and one without palms. By this option DCG can decide which to take.

Thanks for the help guys http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif. I think I've got it now. When I fly a QMB the palm trees are still there, but when I fly a Pacific campaign there don't seem to be any.

Yes, there is an online and an offline version of this map. But the Palms that are there can not be removed.
