On a recent harbour tour in Copenhagen I saw a sub displayed ashore, on the grounds of the Danish Naval Academy. It looks fairly small, with a 1960ish conning tower. The harbour tour guide didn't know much about it really, but mentioned that it was put there quite recently and was supposed to have "seen action in the Gulf war" - she didn't say which one. Does anyone here know anything about this sub? (Apologies for the poor picture quality - bad weather and long distance).

Yeah, forgot my specs today, so I can't see it all that clearly. As for the gulf war, I was serving in the RAN at the time of the first one, many of my mates were in boats. They didn't get sent because the waters in the gulf were considered too shallow to avoid detection.
Not discrediting what you were told, just repaeting what I was told. I'll have a better look at the pic when I've got my reading glasses

As far as I know, a Danish sub was sent to Iraq as contribution in the war against Saddam Hussein in 2003
Whether this is the one, I don't know...

Thanks, mariusz!
So its S323 Saelen, a Tumleren Class sub (370/435 tons, with a crew of 24), built by Rheinstahl-Nordseewerke Emden, launched Oct. 1965 initially for Norway, joined the Royal Danish Navy in 1990, was sent to Bahrain in June 2003, and eventually decommissioned and put on display by the Royal Danish Naval Museum in December 2004.
