http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif I'm really looking forward to seeing the do335 flyable in the next patch and think its inclusion is a lovely suprise giving the german side a welcome new aircraft, the do335 being a great choice for some "what-if" flying.

I know we've seen the cockpit models already but is there any chance of seeing some externals before the patch release (2 weeks right? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif) to wet the appetite?

appreciate the great work http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Hi,

Sorry to disappoint you but the ball has been dropped on this one for now. The original developper, JG51_Atze mentioned in a thread at netwings.org that his external model was rejected by Maddox in Nov/Dec due to several errors. He also mentioned that he is unable to continue work on the Do-335 because of school. The cockpit has been approved, apparently. Now somenone has to pick up the original external model and correct it, or...possibly build a new one from scratch. Terrible news, to be sure! Major bummer! I am also desperately eager to fly this aircraft - one of my favourite. Check the thread below for the story about the rejected model.

Cheers.

That's not quite correct (fortunatelly):
Initially Gibbage started with the LOD0, which only had a few minor errors.
The rest of the model was not from me, but from another modeler, who tried to finish Gibbage's model while I worked on the cockpit, so that both would have been ready at the same time.
This external model has been rejected, because the other LOD models, the damage and cap parts were wrong/not usable.

After writing the thread at netwings I received a lot of help http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Kami, the modeler of the B29/Fw200/... (--> very experienced in building external models) was able to finish it two days ago. It has been sent to 1C, already. Now, we just have to wait until the end of their holidays http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Jabber, Atze made the accepted cockpit, Harti made the rejected External. Jabber you must have been confused about Atze posting that he got the message of Harti's External rejection at the same time Atze passed his cockpit to Oleg.

crossing my fingers for a release in the near future, maybe not in 3.04, but 3.05 possibly. If it really has been sent off, maybe...just maybe we will see it in 3.04.

this bird wil truly be an uber-sweet ride!

To Lexx_Luthor and Atzebrueck:

My apologies gentlemen. I stand corrected and happily so, because - I am now happy to learn that the model IS finished and in the hands of 1C. Hooray! Good job. My hats off of to Hardi and Atze. Thanks guys! Looking forward to flying the Do-335!

Cheers,

Jabber

Major Kong: Now, boys, we got three engines out; we got more holes in us than a horse trader's mule, the radio's gone and we're leaking fuel, and if we's flying any lower, why, we'd need sleigh bells on this thing. But we got one little budge on them russkies, at this height, why, they might harpoon us but they dang sure ain't gonna spot us on no radar screen!

Just an FYI. I very much doubt it will make the 3.04 patch since the dev team will need to take time and program the FM. That from what I hear takes about a month.
