Ok, IMO I'm pretty disappointed we have to play as Ezio again while he's an old geezer and its set in Constantinople? I don't even know where that is. I think Ubisoft would have been better off developing AC3 with a new ancestor and new, interesting location. State your opinions.

AC3 is already in development (although its never been officially stated) and has probably been since AC2 was completed.

It was always going to be released in 2012 as it ties in with the games 2012 timeline.

So in the meantime there were 2 options.

1. No more AC until AC3
2. Fill out Ezios story until AC3 is complete.

If Brotherhood was anything to go by, they clearly made the right decision

ok well when you put it that way, it sounds much better.

So if they're telling the truth then PC gamers will never get to play it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

ACR isn't a spin off it's part of the main story

Just a wild stab in the dark really, but I like to think that most people do, in fact, know where Constantinople is... It's one of the oldest and most culturally rich cities in the world. Plus there's that They Might Be Giants song. So...

Plus, it'll be awesome! Desmond, Altair AND Ezio? It's a party!

ACB and ACR arent spin-offs in my opinion, however things like bloodlines and discovery for PSP and DS are annoying as they are sort of spin-oofs that could been included in the storylines of the main games to make them more thorough and interesting and give us console and PC gamers a fuller experience of the series

i hope playing as ezio and altair will close doors on their stories and anwer any unanswered questions so that we have a clean slate ready to spread AC3 on to. as good as cliffhangers are i dont think another one at the end of ACR would be appropriate then again i could be proven wrong

Well, for the record, Emperor Constantine moved the capitol of the Roman Empire to the city of Byzantium, to the East, which he renamed Constantinople. When Rome fell, the empire was renamed to the Byzantine Empire. It lasted like a thousand years before the Turks invaded and it became Istanbul.
That said, I agree with not having Ezio around, though this "old geezer" version honestly feels like a different person (to me.) At least, he doesn't look much like past Ezio's and looks pretty badass.

Nothing is a SPIN OFF. These are all ASSASSINS CREED GAMES. THEY ARE MADE BY UBISOFT AND YOU BUY THEM AND PLAY THEM. END OF STORY.

If you have a problem with how they make their games, and dont buy them! They are not obligated to you to make some kind of game you think they should make, they have a STORYLINE they are following that each game is a part of. In conclusion:

It makes more sense to release AC3 in 2012, but they do not want to wait until then to make a new AC game, that's why Brotherhood and Revelations exist. They want to keep getting money until the release of AC3, instead of waiting for AC3 sales.

lol i meant "spinoff" as in a game that is a direct sequel to the last one. for example: the creed games that have a subtitle (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood & Assassin's Creed Revelations) are directly related to Assassin Creed 2 (Ezio's story). When they put a new number in front of the game (Assassin's Creed 3), there will be a new character to play as and that's really the announcement I was hoping for but as long as Creed 3 comes right after it, its cool. btw you should respect other people's opinion.

"Old geezer"? Don't know where Constantinople is?
I think maybe you should leave it up to the grown-ups to work on their game development in order to please the masses/fans. In the meantime, please do yourself a favor and go pay your local library a visit. We are still months away from AC:R. You could learn a lot until then.

Yes. And Sylvester Stallone(64 year old geezer) just came out with Rocky(at 60) and Expendables with a bunch of other old geezers while looking like this...

Jean Claude Van Damme, as much as people dislike him is pushing 50 years. If at 50 years old, your biceps look like this, then I give you props...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...eLug&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjIDyHQeLug&feature=related)

If him and a bunch of other action-movie icons can come out with a successful movie-blockbuster and show everyone that age is just a number, then why can't it be believable with Ezio?
You didn't offend me with your comment btw in case you are wondering. I am 28 and I go to the gym for weight-training 5-days a week mon-fri. You would be surprised at some of the 40-50+ year old guys that I see there benching crazy numbers.

And if your still in Middle school and haven't reached High school yet, then I apologize for the comment I made about you not knowing where Constantinople is. If not, then it's common knowledge and less time should be spent on video games and more on general knowledge of world history.

I've about had it with listening to Ezio grunt and moan every time I jump. I most certainly love the idea of playing as Ezio again but I hope they get rid of the grunting.
