View Full Version : Plz Help if using Mouse wheel for power..?

When I assign mouse wheel under Controls/ Hotas control/ Power; it works well-but too slowly...

It needs 50 clicks or travel 20 Cm to go from 0 to 110 power.

Is it possible to set this in IL-2? In conf.ini or somewhere?

(Setting mouse in Hardware setup/ Input/ Mouse sensitivity doesn't change wheel speed..)

Also changing wheel setting in mouse properties in windows XP (Rotate the roller one notch to scroll 3 lines at a time) helps only in text files.

I heard that I need mouse with "accelerated scrolling" option, but does somebody know how to do this with simple 3 buttons+wheel mouse?

(Genius Netscroll+ in my case..)

I also downloaded drivers for it, many new options but not that what I need...

Tried also program-Mouse Wheel Control 1.22...It works well in all applications, also in MSFS but with IL-2 just doesn't start...

At least wish to know which mouse this can work to know what to buy if with my is impossible..

Big Thanks!!!

Thanks if somebody tried to help... I find it alone...

In IL-2 everything is possible.

Mouse wheel sensitivity can be changed in conf.ini under SensitivityZ

[rts_mouse]
SensitivityX=1.5
SensitivityY=1.5
Invert=0
SensitivityZ=4.5

Thanks once more to Oleg and whole team!!!

I don't know if you are using Joystick for flying but in case you don't, I would reccomend that you get yourself one.

In Algoritam (http://www.algoritam.hr/?m=5&p=proizvodi&Korak=btrazilica&trazi=saitek&naslov=&autor=&izdavac=&opis=&isbn=&q=i&ima=&kat=0&sort=&Stranica=2) they have Saitek joysticks (I think that is their top joystick offer), and Cyborg EVO will suffice for some time. It isn't the best twisty joystick but it is decent hardware and I have mine for around one year and I don't have any problems with it.

btw thanx for mouse wheel info, I didn't know that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Some of the elevator trimmer guys will be happy with that knowledge, I think.

It was me that suggested the accelerated scrolling option, it has an advantage over the conf.ini in that you can get better fine control if you move the wheel slowly, and can get super fast response with a quick flick... however glad you sorted it out. I had never thought to modify the conf.ini.

Yeah. tbh Cyborg EVO is not something that I would reccomend strongly to you guys. That joystick is only an option in lack of other options http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.
It isn't easy job to obtain a good joystick in our country (I think Cyborg EVO is top offer).

Why I said Cyborg EVO and not X45 or X52?
Basically you will have the same thing with a lot of more buttons only. I personally have X45 but I use EVO because I can't manage with X45 rocker rudder. It is simply unusable IMO.
X52 has a twisty rudder control just like EVO and bunch of buttons controls etc. but it isn't worth a triple price of EVO if you ask me.

My reccomendation for you guys is to stick with EVO untill you get yourself some CH stuff (joystick+pedals combo).
That is premium IMO. I don't know how to get it here tho http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif (other than via internet, I checked with Algoritam already they only can order stuff from Logitech(?) and Saitek).
CH stuff:

I used to be ThrustMaster fanboi, but after I bought saitek EVO, I became Saitek fanboi. Precise, lots of buttons, programmable, durable...if I could change anything I'd throw in optically coupled elements instead of pots and that would be the perfect stick for me.

EVO, preporu─┬Źen od 15/JG52 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I wouldn't recommend force feedback. It will spoil your gunnery and it won't be helpful while flying "on the edge".

Imagine you're in a tight turn, riding stall edge pulling just a few more degrees for a deflection shot. Then FF kicks in (pre-stall buffeting, gun shake effect) and moves your stick ruining your gunnery and sending you into stall.

Uzmi "obi─┬Źni" EVO, em je jeftiniji, em ni┼í ne gubi┼í bez FF.

P.S. Anybody know if there is ready made replacement for those 50k pots?

but without FF you don't get wind effects (I think?!) Anyway i'm offline flyer (still 56k)so it isn't so much about the flying "on the edge" and gunnery.
