Greeting all,

My TIR4 finally arrived, at least mrs says it did hehe... I am wondering is someone here is willing to share profiles for it. Or, maybe, could point me to some place that might have good tips for setting up this little ps of hardware. Not being lazy, just dont like re-inventing bike http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I am sure many out there already figured TIR`s out from A to Z http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You can have my personal profile. It works smoothly on my PC and has a big deadzone in the centre view. Download it here:

Other profiles are available for download here:

http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/04-community/community-profiles.html

And a setup guide:

Hello Ivan!!!Congrats on a fine piece of hardware!!!![you'll be getting kills like swating flies now!!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif]
I just use the profiles that are already loaded in the CD....IL2 & BoBWoV work real well for me!The trick I think is to make sure the camera is tracking o.k.[no outside light issues to deal with]and adjust your head movements.

You know, it's funny, in the year that I've it, I've never had any tracking or light-related issues with my TrackIR.

As for profiles, I find that a little adjustments on the X and Y axes work fine for me . (A bit twitchy for me, actually, but I don't like the view slogging around as that bloody Butcher Bird is bearing down on me) You might try Charvel's profile, I think it's included with TrackIR, if not you can get it at AirWarfare. (His setup guide is there too)

Hey Ivan--

You can grab mine on the Downloads page at simace.com (see sig).

It has nice deadzone so you can stay focused on your prey, and a nice smooth transition to the sides, giving enough room for my big schnoz.

Hope that helps.

I use "CharveL_BoB" profile. I think it comes with the driver.

I love it. is smooth as pie. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

I choose linear all the way, with a slight deadzone in the pitch to counter the vertical movement your head makes when turning left/right.

deadzone with TIR is just bad http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Never use deadzone. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

Linear is better for better responsiveness. And like doodah said you don't have to recenter.
I have a linear TIR profile never have to recenter in game, just once at the start of the game.

If nobody objects I can upload these profiles to M4T and have them available 'under one roof' can then update guides to point to the profiles.

That's a great idea Snoop. It's been needed for quite some time. Maybe there could also be a few older driver versions for those who still use TIR2's and 3's as well.

For Ivan, Did you get the clip? Hat? what to go with it?

I still have a TIR3 Pro w/vector and have a birthday coming up i a couple months. Been thinking about revamping my TIR...though I'm leaning more towards a nice 24" widescreen TFT.

Do not want to overload you with options but here is SeaVee's info on TrackIR4 with his profile which most customers seem to enjoy. Sorry alot of the info is BOBII but I thought you might want to give 6DOF a shot.

What they mean by "it's on the delivery truck" is really "It's about to leave the factory, ta!"

Well, thanks again to all that shared profiles and gave advices. Got that thing up and running right where i want it. I didnt try all the profiles, but Sparx was very kind to send me like 7-8 profiles that are completely different from each other, i found one i liked, slightly modified it and it works like a charm. I am sure somewhere down the road i will make more modifications and get it even better. I will deffinitely ask Sparx if i can share those profiles with everyone. I am sure there will be no objections, but still - have to ask http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

As far as TIR4 itself goes... two thumbs up! What a world of difference between TIR1 and TIR4. Very smooth, very accurate, excellent and pretty simple software. Me likes! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Pro Clip is great too, it felt like almost impossible to lose tracking, great design, fits on headset perfectly... and with those blue lights... well, mrs said i look like cyborg and she is worried about my mental health LOL. I never tried anything but dots before, so i cannot tell whether Pro Clip is deffinite way to go, having said that... i will still recommend it. Tracking capabilities of that thing is simply amazing.

p.s. I am actually planning to install BOB2 to see what 6DOF is all about hehe... maybe i`ll settle for GTR2, haven`t decided yet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When I installed my trackir and loaded up the game, my first thought was, WoW..!

After a month or so, I edited my profile and got a second WoW..!

It would be nice for trackir to have some competition though...
Will bring the price down...

Share away Ivan. I will complete the "package" of profiles at some point. I think I missed 2/3 different variations. But what you have should give anyone a good jump start in setting up a Trackir.

No two profiles will most likely be the same. People sit at different distances and have different lighting conditions. Some people like slow tracking some fast. Some like deadzones, others do not. Just too many options http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. But starting with a solid base to build from helps. I think you will find in the profiles I made for Ivan that they are good starting blocks.
