Hi all,

This is something that I've not noticed before.

Rear view mirror in a Hurricane shows spent cartridges http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Poor Avro didn't make it. Just as he was about to bail, he noticed spent cartridges in his rearview mirror. Like a deer's eyes looked into oncoming headlights, Avro's fate was sealed. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

A nice display on how not to approach a rear robogunner in this sim. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The Heinkel was spewing gas---clearly Avro "tenderized" him, and, if he was maneuvering to throw off the gunners' aim, he was ideally positioned for a devastating eight .303 punch at point-blank range. How did the "event" end, MBA?

P.S. I never noticed the cartridges in my mirror, either. I always like the streams of cartridges in the sim, great stuff.

You are stalking an axis plane, Sir. This can and will be prosecuted by the authorities in charge.

Yes- that is even more sophisticated - this hole shows somebody Else's spent cartridge.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif Those aren't cartridges - they are parts of our plane shot off by the rear gunners.

Had he been flying a Russian plane, I would have suspected they were wood chips. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Except those authorities in charge haven't been around for 60+ years.

Hi all,

What happened next you all ask?

It was a long time ago but I remember taking a few more hits and Miss. Merlin began an indignant whine.

I took note of her protests and managed to land at a nearby aerodrome.

I bought a pint of best bitter in the Mess. Half way through my beer I noticed an 'Enemy Aircraft Destroyed' message on the monitor next to the aircraft recognition chart.

By the time I was on my fifth beer the crew of the Heinkel had been brought to the bar under Guard. They had bailed out.

I offered them all a beer. But the gunners refused the offer. They told me that they were actually robots and could shoot through clouds and make hits at vast ranges http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I then opened a bottle of Scotch for us all and pondered the consequences...

Best Regards,
MB_Avro.

Lemme tell ya, war is Hell. When my engine is hit I always end up in a compost heap, sewage treatment tank, swamp, or Rosie O'Donnell's patchouli oil. I offer opponents drinks, they don't give me no respect. "Who are you?" they say. I say "I'm the guy who shot you down." "You gotta be kidding me" they say. I say "Who'd you expect, Cary Grant?" They say "You look like Cary Grant's schnauzer."
