I bet you though this was an another VVS interview. You couldn't be more wrong! Aarne Vuopohja worked at Finnish Air Forces during the war. One of the aeroplanes he worked with were captured PE-2s.

The interview was translated from Finnish to English by me.

Well, we just didn't have the technology back then http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

PS. Kiitoksia Mangrove. Tosin luin jo alkuperšisen suomenkielisen, mutta helvetin kiinnostavaa tekstiš silti. S!

The reasons:

- Only few mechanics available at the time (assistant mechanic couldn't do the job himself)
- Lack of manuals, right tools and spare engines. One could remove the engine maybe in one night, but if you don't have another engine to put back on, it could take two weeks to change the engine. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
- No horry. Finnish PE-2s were only used in recce flights, no bombings missions.
