I am newer with Pacific Fighters game standalone.I got some trouble takeoff from ground / carrier:
when I started the engine and then increased the speed,my airplane moved to ahead but I cannot keep it straight on the way to takeoff.
one more problem: I cannot decrease the speed below 100 km /h for a good landing though power to zero %? so my airplane alway damaged after landing.
someone help me: How to control the airplane move straight on the way (or left/right)to takeoff? and How to slowdown the speed below 80km/h ?

The trick to keeping a plane straight is to lock the tailwheel (its a key, check your controls) and for the first few seconds pull back on the stick to keep the tail on the ground. Once speed builds move the stick towards neutral (from full back) and then pull back again gently to gain altitude.

Depending on the plane full rudder may be required to counter torque (either left or right depending on the plane).

Almost all of the aircraft do not fly at 80kph. They will fall out of the sky. Keep your speed at 180kph as you touch down and be sure to "flare" or pull back on the stick just before you touch the ground.

Hi chautinhtinh.

You could try here for information:

http://www.darts-page.com/

navigate to Movies/Instructional videos...

Specifically "How to take off..." and "How to land on a carrier".

The take off film uses an Il2, but the principles involved apply to almost anything.

All of Dart's films are entertaining and informative.

Hope this helps.

I highly recommend you go to the Mission4Today website to download and install ZeusCat's excellent "Straight from the Farm" training campaign. Here is the description of his training sylabus:

This campaign is a training aid to help you learn how to takeoff and land from airfields, fleet carriers and escort carriers. This campaign will work with any version of Pacific Fighters after 4.01 and all versions of the merged game including IL-2 1946.

Straight From the Farm by Zeus-cat

This campaign is all about learning how to master takeoffs, landings and basic flight functions for several of the planes in the Pacific Fighters (and IL-2 1946) simulation. This campaign was developed using a Pacific Fighters 4.01 installation and will work with any version of Pacific Fighters after 4.01 and all versions of the merged game including IL-2 1946.

The missions start off with very easy objectives and then progress to more complicated ones. Most of the missions cover one basic concept and are very short in length; typically lasting no more than 2 or 3 minutes. The later missions are somewhat more complicated as they piece together things you have learned in the earlier missions.

The campaign assumes you are a typical pilot recruit of World War II and are straight off the farm and have little knowledge of flying. I include tips and advice as I step you through each mission. The tips are based on the way I "fly" and may not necessarily be the best way to do things. My intent is to show you how to takeoff and land so you can get started enjoying this simulation.

The missions are in a campaign format as I think it will help you feel you are making progress as you go from one mission to the next. The campaign format also allows you to easily replay the current mission if you feel you did not perform it well.

All 19 missions from the campaign are included in a separate folder as single missions. This folder also has 27 additional missions consisting of 14 practice landing missions for the A6M5, Corsair, D3A1, F4F, F6F, FM-2, Ki-43-Ic, SBD-3 and the Seafire; and 13 takeoff missions for the same aircraft.

The first 16 missions of the campaign use the SBD-3, which is a US Navy dive-bomber. It is very easy to fly compared to the high performance fighters that are in the game. Following those missions are three missions in the F4F-4 "Wildcat". The F4F was the primary carrier-based fighter of the US Navy for the early years of World War II.

"Straight from the Farm" helped me a lot when I returned to flying IL-2 after an absence of about a year and a half. Here is the link:

Good luck! It takes a lot of practice but you'll do OK my friend.
