unfortunate US slang for poor or cr^ppy

an insight into the degree to which most people are unconcerned with inner city plight

The Capitol building in D.C. is surrounded by one of the most unbelieveable 'ghettos' in this country and some of the most thrashed and ignored public schools anywhere - no one seems to care.

Its just 'cool' to call stuff 'ghetto' in America

BtW - given the title of this thread I didn't know what to expect....sounds a little Brokebacky to me. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Yeah, but too bad it did not go like that IRL. Wouldn't have needed fighter escorts.

Talk about the perfect rail system, you might as well freeze it in one spot of the sky.

I had lived in such inner city and I can say that much of the plight is self-perpeptuated.

* when you are in the corner shop and someone comes in asking $5 for a new looking CD player
and no one there cares it was admitted just stolen "they shouldn't have left the room" because
that is accepted then who in their right mind builds or saves?

* when 10% to 25+% of every paycheck is for lottery including 3 or 4 number tickets, $50+
per week in many cases and any small 'winners' immediately get used to buy more tickets?
$50 PLUS A WEEK and still complaining about being POOR?

* violence is status. More than accepted.

* tearing down and garbaging everything is accepted.

* complaining that everyone who gets a break leaves and 'wondering why is that?'.

* hate and blame and denial of any and all responsibility to have any part in ending it,
hopelessness as a way of life in the midst of the power to change things as a group that
can and does get together to demand that others must change while they do not.

I lived in that for 6 years while making less and still had more. The few who did or could
see that different is possible did also work to get others to understand but are quick to
say 'these young ones can't see and don't want different'.

Just like every deep-bred social attitude it will take generations if ever to change.
People have to get old and die without the stupidity being passed on as it is.
When the popular 'music' is centered on hate and not just staying the same but cranking
things up worse then there really is no hope but that's not the fault of 'outsiders'.

Go ahead and stick yourself inside then try and make a real change instead of ingratiating
your @$$, mimicking and fitting in with the scene that's obviously headed for worse. All
the money in the world is not going to help when the results are only going to get trashed.

Same goes with spoiled rich kids that destroy out of spite, they grow up to be ba$tards.
The truely impoverished do not walk around in sneakers that cost over $100 easy, which I
have seen, wearing gold and designer clothes and throwing money away on stupid cr@p, which
I have seen. Get the check for the month and if you have $20 left tomorrow you ain't cool
but it's okay to live on grandma cause at least she has enough values to keep a roof over
her head.

It ain't everyone for sure that does that but it's not just a few and the worst part that
kills any chance of change is that it is acceptable and accepted without any disapproval
even by the ones that do try and hold some kind of life together. Hey kid, have your fun
and if you don't survive it's the fault of the rich only... yeah, freaking sure!

Sorry but don't ask me to pour my life down that hole. And I'm not rich whatsoever.

B-17 II: The Mighty Eighth....

Looked like a whole different war to me. Although I didn't get to see the part where they say:
"You're all clear, kid. Now lets blow this thing and go home!" (http://ifaq.wap.org/sex/sexandstarwars.html)

That turret moves pretty fast!

This forum is unique. It must be the only place on the net where a post about a video from a game turns into a debate about inner city poverty http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I still have that game somewhere. I always thought it was pretty cool in some ways. But I did not care for the FM on the fighters- kinda tricky.

One trick if you happen to still have B-17 II still on your machine: in gunnery practice, you can ACTUALLY 'shoot down' the target B-17 with your paintballs: just nail the pilot's canopy from every angle you can, the plane will go down!

Absolutely untrue. The ghetto is several blocks away. Surrounding the Capitol is...Oh, never mind. I'll just say Fizzle Yizzle, my Nizzle.
