Hello,

Is there any news of a date for the next patch or addon for IL2+FB+AEP+PF?
I know this question is on every lips but is there a answer?

Have a nice day all.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Be carefull... Posts asking about the upcoming patch tend to aggrivate people and get them stir up into a frenzy. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif Oleg had some people with pitch forks and torches at his door a while ago. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif Just know that it's coming and be patient. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

What we will probably have in "two weeks" is many b*tching posts complaining about where's the patch? Be sure! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Who really cares anymore?...I mean really. This is rapidly becoming one of the more boring games around, which has lost the bulk of it's former charm and appeal.

PF was the one big opportunity to make a fresh and exciting restart for the Il2 series but that chance was blown for reasons that becomes all too obvious in playing PF itself.
Another patch could be compared to the 20th facelift that permits an aging actress one more curtain call...and most actors learn the brutal reality that when they stay onstage for too long they loose their audience as the goodwill fades away.

It's about time ,I'm thinking, to put the Il2 series on the shelf with CSFs and move on to the more exciting sims on the near horizon.

If you take exception to this about all I can propose is the old truism that declares that truth and honesty are indeed often painful.

Are you talking about Wings Of Victory? It may be nice, time will show.I'm lookin forward to it. Anyway, the original Il-2 is in some aspects far better then the FB/AEP/PF, but i play the merged version for the other aspects - Pacific, lots of planes, etc.It hasnt' became boring yet and i think it will be my favorite game for long. And for some people the whinning about the date of next patch release seems to be more importand and interesting then the game. The same with comparing flight models by "armchair experts"...It's just a game, don't expect perfection.it is a very good game, though.

No one shall ask about a patch in 2 weeks period! then we will have a patch. If you have already asked, the "2 weeks test" started again. Sorry, that is a rule http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

You guys are all a bunch of dopes. Didn't anyone read Oleg's comments that it would be ready around the end of February? Geez...

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know if I will get better FPS if I install the IL2 1.04b patch into my merged PF/AEP/FB/IL2/whateverthe!@#$itisnow directory? Thanks a mint! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Though I've not purchased CFS3,mainly because of bad press, I see there's a new add-on coming out for it.

Titled....believe it or not....Battle of Britain.

Now...talk about beating a dead horse....what's this make now...something like 3 new BoB releases due in the comng year?

How about something fresh like the Spanish civil war or a good WWI flight sim?...been a long, long time since Red Baron.

In answer to the above inquiry... the release I'm expecting in the next few days is SHIII and will ground the Il2 planes for me for the foreseeable future.

And there are others coming out both flight sim and other WWII era releases that sound very appealing.

It would be different if this game was being given away for free. I assume we all paid for this. What if it was a car, and we had been asked to wait "2 weeks" (?) for the seat belts? Would everyone be sitting around saying "Be patient..."? They got your money. They didn't give us the option of letting them wait "2 weeks" for the rest of the money we paid. They didn't tell us on the box OR ON THE WEB SITE AS OF TODAY that the game isn't complete as advertised. I would fall for this if the web site promoting the game had removed references to the missing maps and missing planes, but they are still being advertised as being included. This is what I have a problem with. It is false advertising in the worst sort of way.

The no news "politika" and the lack of updates is simply a shame.
The two weeks joke is not funny after months of vaporware promises.
Men, its Silent Hunter III time.
Bye PF.

Unfortunately cold beers (yes...even 2) affects my flying abilities. Usually in a bad way. Doesn't often stop me though, as I'm Canadian and have a worldwide reputation to maintain for queen and country!

Please understand that I personally LOVE the sim, and genuinely thank the creators for raising the bar industry wide, which can only be good for everyone in the flight sim community. The major issue I have is with Ubisoft. They should market in a more responsible manner. Yes...it was too late to update the box art. I would hate them to waste money on throwing away boxes and remaking new ones, and I would have whined and moaned if this action had delayed the game's original November release even a day. My issue is that a newbie, never having been here, never having read anything but Ubi's promo site for Pacific Fighters would still TO THIS DAY think he was buying a complete game. The official Ubi web site for Pacific Fighters STILL says it comes with these missing items everyone is worked up about. I'm sorry if it offends the Maddox groupies, but that's just plain dishonest. I was informed today via telephone by support people at Montreal Canada's office that the false information on the main page was an "oversight", and the main page for PF is going to be reviewed, and I was thanked for pointing it out. Lets see what happens...

Oh yes, the main site ( http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/pacific.php ) still lists the Betty as one of the flyable aircraft in the PF box...

I'm annoyed that I've waited my 2 weeks for the Betty (which was precluded due to CD space limitations, remember?) - and then another 2 weeks, then 5 more 2 weeks and there's no official word saying what the patch will contain, or when it will be available.

In the meantime, I'm flying Il-2s around Lvov. It's great - a strike on a target 70km away equates to about 45 minutes real time flight. I'm flying on full real, with a printed map on my lap with lines drawn on in non-permanent marker to show where the front line, flight path, target, etc are. It makes flying at 300kph and 300m in real time much more interesting, as you try to work out where you've gotten lost to this time...

And shooting down Bf-109F2s three at a time is fun. Unfortunately my squadron is down to its last 7 servicable aircraft now...

If you feel the game is boring and lost something and you dont care, then way do you feel the need to still post in these forums? Why waste more time and effort? Makes no sense to me...really.

Funny thing is for a game that is so boring it has more players flying in HL now more then ever. Also it retains its core players. Like myself who has had the series since IL-2 1.0. I have played many many games and I think many will agree with me when I say the IL-2 series has remained on my harddrive longer then any of them. Not bad for a boring title. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Yes, I agree. This forum is only for posts that are positive. I wish everyone would stop saying mean things. That's what bathroom walls are for! Everyone just say nice things about this game from now on!!!

Relax Guys, Oleg is the only FS Developer who has not let us down, he's on our side. We are fortunate to have him in this business, if he wasn't we'd all be playing **** flight sims like MSCFS3.

Just give him some time, Oleg Will Make it Do What it's Gonna Do, - Yeah Baby!

Good things come to those who wait.
