Its a pig. Slow to accelerate but it does get up to high speed on the other side of the map. Object Viewer gives it 1500kg more mass than 262 and double range, if so I can deal with it. Hard to get up speed at high altitude. Down low very fast eventually. 100% fuel very slow accel. Sweet to fly though. Just my dishonest opinion from two flights, I need more to be honest.

i love that thing. it does take a while to speed up but whet it does it moves!! it is also amazing how slow you can fly it, I was flying circles within my airbase at 115kph full flaps down, it felt very odd to move that slow and you really have to watch the side slip. I think it a joy to fly!

Yeah I forgot about that. I freaked when I lifted off at ~140km/hr. That thing is a real floater. Awsum! (...a pig only in acceleration)

If the YP-80 is like an X-wing, and the Me262 being an A-wing, and the Henschel a Tie fighter, the Gotha is like a Millenium Falcon, except it's a lot slower with all the downsides of being bigger.

That's a damned good comparison :>

What Henschel is a Tei fighter? Did you mean the Heinkel? The only Henschel in the game, afaik, is the Hs129, did we get a new Henschel Luft 46 a/c?

You can see the turbine blades spool up and spin.

Short takeoff run - she wants to fly! Strange because rear wheels start to float off the ground before the big front mainwheel.

Typical slow jet acceleration on takeoff, but she handles very graceful on the climbout.

Handles very good at speed/alt. with a suprisingly good roll-rate. Phenominal dive speed - easily over 1000kph and recovers easily. Airbrakes deploy on the outside/upper wings to provide rudder/yaw - very cool effect.

Heavy firepower.

That's all I've had time for - there are ALOT of planes to fly!

All of the above, but this baby turns tight circles! It rolls like a zero at high speed, but the turn radius...wow.

Oh ya, I agree with everything everybody's said. She is an incredibly stable airframe with a good high-speed roll and the armament...wow...I don't know what it is, but it packs a big punch.

Arnament consist of 2x 30mm MK103 cannon. The same huge cannons that you can put on the FW190A8&A9 in pods. ;)

you greedy man! Isnt that battery enough for you? Of course, you will not be able to sink the Tirpitz with it, but anything smaller than a ship(and weaker than the Omaha beach bunker) has no chance.:)

O, how I want to hold you,
To feel your breath
And hear your laughter in my ears.
To look into your eyes
And see myself in there.
Caress you with my lips.
To hold your hands in mine
And find the hidden smile in your dimple
That makes you irresistible
And stops the breathing in my chest.
To be with you when you are weeping,
To wipe away the tears and take away the sorrow.
To watch you while you are sleeping
Like there is no tomorrow.

And with a tender kiss to wake you up.

It was 4 MK108s, mounted as pairs, one above the other in the position the MK103 was mounted.

I think it's too good IMHO. I mean the thing surely was not that manueverable so I think they took some license when they thought up the FM for it. Where did it get it's directional stability from?? I shot down a P-51 Ace in QMB within one minute, the first time I ever flew it. One thing for sure those guns are extremely deadly, that's for sure.

It is a flying wing, it should have some yaw instability and some nasty spins (any spin should pretty much mean it's time to bail), but I can't even get the thing to spin.

Other than being way too easy to fly, it's very nice.

I remember having read that the prototype Go-229 flew surprisingly, the heads of the Gothta Wagenfabricke even thought disturbingly, flawless. No nasty stalls, no peculiarities of handling, no sudden engine failure. It was apparently one of those few "too good to be true" machines.

Luckily, the design never made it to the front line.

Fly friendly!

How is this plane to shoot down? I recall it was of chiefly wood construction, so I wouldn't think it would be extememly durable.

Also, I think I remember hearing that if one of the engines fails, the other will send the plane into a nasty spin. Is this modelled in AEP?

Are there any loadouts availible for it? Wasn't this plane meant to fulfill a requirement to carry 1000kg at 1000kph for 1000km? Perhaps they never got to that stage of development historically.

Awesome!

Its great to hear the Gotha is a seriously modelled aircraft instead of an "ooh" and "ahh" fly-it-once plane. Hats off to Gib and Oleg!
