I play PF on a 750MHz and GeForce 2 (64 MB) card with only 512MB of RAM and it works. At least when playing in the QMB and not setting up too much planes. It's a shame that I cannto play any campaign or mission - the machine is too slow. Don't get me wrong - I don't blame anyone beside myself for this...

I cannot wait until I get my new machine to see how game play improves.

For low end grafix performance, czech out the "conf" file in your basic game folder, and find TexQual=N under DirectX or OpenGL, whichever you run (N being a Number between 1 and 3 inclusive).

Set TexQual=0 and see what happens. FMB map looks awful, but the fps increase is good. TexQual zero setting is lower than can be gotten by using the in-game grafix options menu. Worked wonders when I started out with Trident integrated motherboard grafix...before I got my first video card.

many thanks Lexx_Luthor - will give it a try. But normally I prefer eye candy above FPS also when this means just playing around in the QMB.
But certainly will give it a try since just playing in the QMB is a little bit boring after some time.

Again thanks.

Well, I've got a 3gig processor and GeForce 5200. Would i get a good FPS, outta curiosity/concern lol prefer FPS over eye candy unlike Wildesau here! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Dude you need to seriously upgrade that crate you have there. If you played PF on a much faster computer you really see what an awful experience you would be going through trying to play it on 750 MHz PC.

you are right Dragonhart - will get a new one in two months.

It will be a:

Intel P-IV 550 (3.4GHz),Box 775Pin,1MB, CPU
MSI 915P Neo2, PCX, 915P, FSB800 Mainboard
Kingston DDR2-X 1G,PC5400 667MHz,CL4, (2 x)
MSI NX6800GT-TD256,256MB 350/1000MHz, Card

This should be enough to run PF and hopefully BoB too.

Hehem yestrday I accidentally set my XP2500+ to 700Mhz and at excellent setting there were ~5 FPS online. I was freaking mad, you can imagine.

My rig: MSI KT800 Delta, XP2500+, 1Gb RAM 400Mhz, SATA Samsung 160Gb, Radeon9600Pro, SBLive5.1

I plan to get 6600GT when it finaly reaches the far end of Europe's **** called Czech Republic.

EDIT: Those stars originally represented the place connecting back and legs.

wow, so I wasn't the only one with the pc that belongs to museum. I'm running FB on my good ol trusty Dell Desktop with 733mhz Intel P# with 512MB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 32MB (was state of the art back then when I bought it during college). Yes, I am indeed saving for the upgrade so that I can play PF in style but will be few month till then. I do have a kick butt labtop with top specs but I'm still enforcing my "separation of Work & Pleasure" policy. Been successful keeping up with it so far... but more I see those awsome PF screen shots ya'll post... it's getting tougher to stick to my words I must admit...

Dude that 5200 is a real PIA bottleneck in your 3.0GHz rig. Get something 9800/x800ish or a 6800.
