Lately I got stuck with downloading some skins for my favourite a/c's (not only them http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif) and I have noticed 5 names..

Hammerd, CanonUK, foo.bar, vpmedia2004user and HurriKhan.

Of specific skins, I must point out Hammerd's Fw190D skin "Black 8" -- IMO the best skin I have ever seen. Not exagerrating.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
P-47D-27 "Razorback Jug" is IMO in the top.

I like also CanonUKs Bf-109E4 "vonWerra", and his LaGG/LA skins..awesome job.

Post your favourites..http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Don't forget Tchaika, Jutocsa,Ats42, TonyT and Leadspitter Bo Nidle...really there are quite a few that deserve a mark above the rest(and sorry if my spelling from memory is off)

In the new arrivels category have seen some new work by Kamikuze and Oblix that are of the highest quality.

We are blessed to have free access to such great art work so keep the IL-2 skins donations rolling because those skins may be free but the site that hosts them sure isn't and thank you for all the work to keep them available to us all.

last-samuria is worthy of being on that new comers list as well. I can't name just one favorite...as the ranks of people dedicated to FB/AEP/PF grows so to does the talent pool and really makes it a win win situation for all of us. Free and beautiful works of art, hard combo to beat. So many skins, so little time

Sooty is one of the best IL2 skinners

CanonUK is by far my favorite. Some of his skiners are cleaner than I like but they are all very uniform in style and he has a fantastics ability to make panel lines look 3D.

I also like Tchaika's work. Very realistic. I whish he would do more flyable aircraft. Its torture looking at some of his skins and not being able to fly them.

OK guys thanks, I will check those guys. All of them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

But for sure I left some of them unintentionally and thanks guys for correcting me.

Also I must say that some of this skins are way nicer than stock ones -- I just do not know how these guys are achieving that. Awesome..

Jutocsa is my favorite. He did a skin called Miss V for the P38J. Thats my favorite skin and the best P38 skin by far IMHO. Ats42 has done some excellent P38 skins also.

Hammerd and Leadspitter are also very good skinners.

Cpt. Farrel
http://www.cptfarrels.com

I think the Captain has a superb eye for details, technical authenticy/mechanical accuracy and his skins are by far the most pleasing to the eye. His style has been amajor influence on IL-2 skinning in my opinion.

The NN skinners also have some terrific talent amongst them.

1.Java Serval is another favourite...I just wish he did more Spits (with markings!)

Snorri is definately up there, although he gets less attention with the type of work he does nowdays. Many of the new a/c whose skins you see and drool over are Snorri's work.

Canon is a tremendous contributor and his later work is very appealing to me

There are many more talented skinners, but these stand out in my mind. Some in terms of quality, others in terms quantity, other for both.

Personal favourite? Cpt. Farrel-although I'd be hard pressed to choose between the two if Snorri were skinning en masse again.

VF-1 Feroz. Don't see him alot, but he did two Korean-era Marine and Navy F4U-1D's that are really great! Find them at IL2Skins.

Hope he does more U.S. planes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Cannon's stuff is fantastic. He recently posted a series of LaGG-3 skins on il2skins.com that are the best I have ever seen.

RocketDog.

SDhooter.. don't forget FlyByShooter.... IMO all the above mentioned guys are artists.. and to pick the "best" is an impossible task... thats like saying who is the best bass player... or the best ...... WWII fighter... it cant be determined to any satisfaction because there are just too many greats to pick from.

I've got a list of links that I check/use regularly to DL some of the best/latest skins. But, what's up with the recent rash of ancient thread resurrections?

They are the only thing worth posting in, most the new stuff is redundant or trash, http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
