w/ PF almost here, and constant frustration w/ my logitech extreme 3d pro (which feels great... minus the tendency for the pots to get dirty and the development of a nasty little lack-of-center), I've decided it's new joystick time. Everyone here seems to swear by the saitek x45... it looks / feels nice, but I don't have the money for a $60 joystick. I also really don't see a need for a seperate throttle... I don't mind the usual slider on the base of a joystick. So, to the point...

Does anyone reccommend a cheaper saitek? There isn't a simpler version of the x45, and the rest of saitek's lineup seems totally different. I definitely want a twistable handle (for rudder) and a slider for throttle. If anyone else has another joystick that'll last a while and feels great, please let me know. thanks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Cyborg EVO. Not a slider throttle though.. that's very rare.

The Saitek Cyborg Evo Force (just about to come out I believe), looks something like what you're after (and me too come to that!). I saw it at the Flightsim convention at Blackpool in the summer, but it was in a glass case and not on demo for the public to get their filthy mitts on :-(

oops screwed up on the terminology there... i didn't mean specifically a slider, just throttle control on the stick... sorry about that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
