Check this out.... these are some of the utilities available. Mission Mate in particular is a nice tool. It is good to learn the FMB.... but in the meantime... the UQMG & MM are must haves.
In Pursuit: An Online Pilot's Guide to Aerial Combat (http://web.comhem.se/%7Eu85627360/)
Neural Dreaml's Aircraft Reference Guide (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#001)
Hardball's Aircraft Viewer (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#014) an online version of the guide basically.. both are very good.
Uber Quick M issionGenerator (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#043) - This tool will help you to create more diverse quick missions to practice with. It comes with an extensive help file and is pretty easy to use once you do it a few times.
Mission Mate (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=8) Similar to The UQMG but different enough and powerful enough to stand on it's own legs. An EXCELLENT tool. I dont use the QMB anymore between the two programs... no need... I find MM a bit easier and faster to use.
Fraps (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#010)- A quick and easy way to measure your frames per second
IL2 Manager 5.0 (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#022) This utility will allow you to make certain adjustments within the config file.. like graphics setting etc. on a gui. While it is highly recommended that you learn where these things are in the config file, once you know that... easy and quick is the way to go. It also has a stick editor which will allow you to set up different profiles for your joystick sensitivity settings.
IL2 Stab (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#024) Similar to IL2 Manager but without the stick editor and with a Diary feature.
VAC (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#047)- Voice ActvatedCommands - This utility is very similar to SHOOT.. it allows you to interact with your PCand thus the sim with voice commands. Very usefull in coops. A bit tricky.. but a good program.
COOP Generator (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#005) - A random COOP genrator. I have yet to use it but it looks interesting.
Sniper's Corner (http://ourworld.cs.com/Abra772/SC_2_Eng.zip) a nice utility to help get the angles aspect of A2A gunnery in your head - Gunnery at AW.C (http://www.airwarfare.com/tactics/tactics_fwgunnery.htm)-A good explenation of the tool and what is does. Also this entire section at AW.C is a really good resource.

There are tons more but I figured these were good starting points to get us on our way and to help any newcomer get up to speed.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Thank you. Glad you like them. One new one a week at the moment. I'll try to keep up the pace. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This freak'n sim is so damn cool. I was testing a little campaign on the Pacific Islands map, meeting up with a flight of A-20's on the way to deliver a sundown surprise, and Goddam, absolutely beautiful - the glow of the setting sun, the A-20's just ahead, cutting our way through scattered cloud. We're lucky duckies and the FMB opens up soooo much. End of rave. No, Oleg, I love you!

S!
