I was browsing the forums and noticed that people were unaware AC:B features replayable missions (unlike AC2) so i figured i would make a topic about it so more people notice.

Mission replay is in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Source:
http://www.xbox360achievements...Mission-Replays.html (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-5487-E3-2010--AC--Brotherhood-Will-Include-Mission-Replays.html)

Heres what the link says in case it doesnt work for anyone (not sure why it wouldnt but w/e) :

"While pressing flesh amongst the E3 throng, Mr. Daniel Webblesque has been told by a Ubisoft representative that Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will feature mission replays, enabling players to return to the game and give any assassination another shot.

The addition comes in response to players that wanted to return to missions like the Da Vinci glider one in Assassin's Creed II, but were unable to.

Well, now you will be able to go back to any mission at any time, so if you felt you could have perhaps performed a certain assassination a lot more smoothly and you want to have another try, you can.

We think we've laboured the point enough now. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will be launching in November 2010."

---

UPDATE:
Hey guys, i found another confirmation of mission replay for anyone who is still skeptical.

link:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/tech...-s-creed-brotherhood (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2010/jun/19/e3-2010-assassin-s-creed-brotherhood)

It is in the last sentence of the paragraph right above the second picture (if that makes sense lol).

In case you cant find it, heres what it says.
"Gagnon also mentioned that, for the first time in the series, players will be able to go back and re-try any mission at any time a nice chance to explore favourite areas whenever we like."

I find it odd that he says "first time in the series" since IIRC Assassin's Creed 1 featured mission replay, but its still a confirmation nontheless. So there you go, Ubisoft confirmed it.

I am starting to think this game has potential to be my favorite game ever...
This feature alone already makes it greatly improved upon AC2 since no mission replay was my biggest gripe in it.

November, plz come sooner. Thx.

That's what they originally said about ac2. in fact, they said that you would be able to replay even the desmont parts...

If this is legit news it's another shred of evidence to confirm that Ubisoft does listen to their users, ragradless of them not giving any feedback lol

This may restore a little sliver of faith to a small percentage of sceptics, just need to hope it's true now.

I'll wait for a solid confirmation from Ubisoft themslves before I believe it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I'll wait till I hear something more official from Ubi before I start getting excited, but I do hope its true and rather destroys the theory or excuse used for AC2 of it being too hard because of customization.

All the more reason to keep that petition going to have reply added in to AC2. One hopes that perhaps ACB patches AC2 with replay feature for those who have it. I wouldn't put it past Ubi to make people effectively pay for a patch.

lol cynic, but you're right about it making their customisation excuse sound like a crock

Yes I am a cynic http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, with good reason, DLC and add-ons are a nice idea but all too often these days they get used as a way of patching and providing features that should of already been there, and we all know replay should of been in AC2 since it was a feature of AC1.

I'm not totally against Ubisoft although it may often seem like it with my posts, you know when they bought the Might and Magic series with 3DOs demise I changed my homepage from 3DO to Ubi and over the last few years have been a big fan of many games they publish. Lately though I feel Ubi are making some bad decisions, my preference in gaming has always been quality over quantity.

I think these days about the only smart and rich developer that exists is R* and GTA. Time and again they've proven that they create great games, have plenty of money to spend these days, and have enough brains to listen and care for their community of fans, and not overdo anything. Take2 may prefer more GTAs but there still remains a nice gap between each full game, and when each one comes along it blows people away with what they achieve. GTA4 was released in April 2008 (console), the next FULL installment isn't expected until 2012, thats a long wait but I think once it arrives most people will see it was worth the wait. So again, quality not quantity is often the best way to go for the long term, and many games in the past that were mass produced were burnt out quite quickly because they gave people too much of a good thing.

This lesson can be seen in other forms of entertainment too, think of some of the best comedy tv shows and how many episodes were made, I'll choose Fawlty Towers as my example but you can find many others, there were only 12 episodes made and they left fans wanting more and this show won many awards in Britain and overseas for being one of the funniest Brit comedies of all time. Even is shows that went on much longer, think about when the show was at its best, it was probably those first few series, not the last few.

The quicker you produce them the quicker people get sick of them and it becomes old. Come up with new ideas so you dont need to keep redoing the same games every year. There are still plenty of ideas or markets that not many companies are tapping in to because its seen as too hard or too risky but making every game the same doesn't mean it sells. Uniqueness is always the best seller as can be seen time and time again in gaming history.

GTA
SimCity
The Sims
Wolfenstein/Doom
Command & Conquer/Warcraft
and even Assassin's Creed

are all examples of games that came along and blew people away because they offered something that had never been seen or done before, their uniqueness is how the won. Many of them will go down in gaming history because they changed the way we gamed, and often introduced whole new genre's.

Anyway I realise I'm not on topic for this thread and I've already gone on too much about this decision by Ubi, but I really do feel they're making a mistake.

Not sure.

Maybe they were originally going to include it in AC2, but then found it difficult with the amount of customization and ran out of time, and with Brotherhood they had more time to figure it out.

Or, perhaps, it was just laziness masked by an excuse of technological difficulties. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I suspect its the latter of the two choices. You can probably tell I'm a big fan of Ubi and a big cynic http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

it's nice that there will be mission replay but they should also fix another thing. the fact that i cant remove armors at AC2 kills me. and i was wondering if the new battle mechanics will replace the old ones. anyway AC is my favourite game and i am patiently waiting for its release

Marie, you can remove armors by going to the armor room at the villa

Yeah that would be a nice feature too. I haven't seen a confirmation of whether they've fixed that or not though, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

removing armors would be usefull if we wanted a more realistic blending with the crowd kinda thing
removing completely including the hood, or replacing it, hmm while were at it, why not guard armors? those papal guard armors look really sweet, maybe they could add it to the armory as part of a infiltration mission?

removing armors and replaying missions would make this a very very awesome game
can't waitt xD

i know this has been discussed but

november 2010 seems so vague specially for pc
they should make it
release time estimated between november 2010 and march 2011

I don't want to shatter your hopes but, game trophies and save data don't usually link with each other..

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is a standalone game, featuring a rich and extensive single player campaign, along with online multiplayer..

So any game saves or trophies will be only for that game..
