While I do appreciate the new website, and all of the effort that went into it - the new website, like its predecessor - still fails to reasonably inform people of whats coming up next and when.

I'm playing IL-2 FB ACE right now - just got my IR Tracker 3Pro and CH Fighterstick, RudderPedals and Throttle. I'm having loads of fun - and eagerly look forward to the next installments of this incredible series of games.

I'm pretty excited about the pending release of Pacific Fighters this fall - but why is there little to no information on BoB/Combat Over Europe?

Are they one in the same?

Electronics Boutique lists Combat Over Europe, as slated for release October 18th 2004 and Pacific Fighters on November 9th 2004. I realise that these dates are subject to change, and not necessrily "accurate" - but if they ARE true...

Why - if this Combat over Europe is coming out earlier than Pacific Fighters, is there no link or even mention of it on the new Website?

What gives?

Can anyone please bring me up to speed, or better yet - could the webmasters please create (or update) and accessible area on the existing website to inform us impatient fans of whats in the pipes?

Thanks in advace http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There is no mention of Combat Over Europe because it is not an Ubi/1C:Maddox product. It is a 3rd party missions/skins pack and is distributed by someone else (don't ask me who).

Battle of Britain is 1C:Maddox's next flight sim after Pacific Fighters. As it's not due for at least 12 months, probably more, the only current information on it can be found as posts by Oleg Maddox in Oleg's Ready Room and as screenshots in the weekly development updates that can be found on the main site. Look for the screenshots which include "BoB" in the caption.

Battle Over Europe is available through a UK company (it only takes about 5 days to get it). I have been playing it for 3 months and it is incredible. I fly in P-51 and P-47 campaigns.

Combat over Europe came out a while ago (I believe) and does not come close to matching Battle over Europe. just do google search and purchase it, you will not be sorry you did.

...isn't Paul Lowengrin involved in that? Memory is dim, but his name is floating to the surface of one of the oil slicks that covers my brain

I don't think so Chuck, 'Paul Lowengrin' is the creator of DCG (Dynamic Campaign Generator), which is still free at this point.

Starshoy and Luthier are the creators/force behind Battle Over Europe (as well as upcoming Pacific Fighters, with Oleg). Starshoy well known for his work on the series' dynamic campaigns.

Combat Over Europe is comprised of (as I understand it) a number of community members, namely Len 'Viking' Halmjerson (my spelling is obviously attrocious), and possibly one Ossi, both well known for excellent static campaigns, with various artists including skins.

I have both of these third party add ons. Combat over Europe is available from the UK through GMX Media, www.gmxmedia.net (http://www.gmxmedia.net) and Battle Over Europe is available from the UK through Just Flight at www.justflight.com (http://www.justflight.com). I have posted elsewhere about several other 3rd party add ons. Rebirth of Honor, Operation Fall Blau and Aces Campaign. Some are available now and some will be available hopefully before the end of the year, here in the US. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help guys! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

While I can appreciate why 1C isn't broadcasting/advertising 3rd party add-ons, I'am still somewhat struck by the abscence of information regarding BoB.

I DO hope that BoB is the first step towards an "official" game or add-on which spans over Western Europe, Ideally - even including the Mediteranean and North Africa.

I agree, that to date - the Air War over Europe has been done to death by preceeding air sims - so the Eastern Front, and whats sure to be a well done sim in the Pacific (Pacific Fighters) are a breath of fresh air.

It would be nice to see the Europeran Air War done the right way though (through IL-2's proven game engine).

In any event - I'd kill to see a flyable Lancaster in some hypothetical future product.

Thanks again for everyone's input. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I just received Rebirth of Honor today from Asylum Games, www.asylum-games.de (http://www.asylum-games.de). I have just started but it looks really promising. Just call me the king of add-ons.
