I recommend that you check out www.the-underdogs.org! (http://www.the-underdogs.org) Man, they have tons of good stuff here. For example, I just downloaded Apache from Digital Immersions and i-F-16 (I loved that game so much when I was little, seriously).

So anyways, I just wanted to spread the word. Some of the stuff there cant be downloaded because of copyright reasons, but a good amount of the stuff is downloadable.

So, I hope you'll take the time to go through all of this stuff because it's worth it!

Apache Gunship by Microprose was my first sim, back in the Commodore 64 days. Its worth noting that the game took half an hour, yes 30 mins, to load.

I have clear memory of box with that A-10 game in the shop, where I bought my C-64 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I will get Elite - I spent HOURS at that one. It will be first time I see coloured version, as I played that on black-white TVset http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

EDIT: they also have Tomahawk - attack helicopter sim for C-64. Guess what they say about it:

quote:

Digital Integration's early helicopter sim already includes many excellent features that would become the company's hallmarks: realistic flight model, authentic instrument panels, varied missions, and even weather effects

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Hi there,

My first sim was on an Amstrad CPC 6128, and it was called ERE combat. With this sim, you could not even look outside http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif! The only thing you could look at was actually the instruments http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif!

Remembering that, i want to say, once again, http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifTHANK YOU OLEG http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif , your sim's the best, even when i feel the urge to whine about my Fw190 FM http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I remember when I upgraded my CGA video card to EGA so I could play Gunship in a whopping SIXTEEN colors instead of just 4...

God that really does take me back, same here I think. We are talking circa mid-late 80's ??

Aces over Europe anyone, F15 by microprose I think.

It feels great to sound like an old far* in computing terms http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif When I traded in my tape drive ( yes tape drive kiddies, LOL) for my nice shiny new 1541 disk drive which cost me NEARLY THREE HUNDRED QUID lol I felt the absolute bolox.

Oh those were the days http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
