I have the same problem - yet it is intermittent.. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, even in the same mission...Wierd, huh?

It's never a good idea to get high in the cockpit http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif (well....http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Above a certain speed you can't do it, that might be it.

Try using the shift f1 key to toggle gunsight.
If you are in gunsight mode you can not adjust seat.

ummmm....is your cockpit open? If not then you cant raise the seat. Not trying to be a smart *** here but....

I thought I was the only one that got high in the cockpit! You might think all that smoke is from the engine. Nope, all coming from the cockpit! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Trust me, Sir, you are not http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif (I've got the law on my side in this country so I'm not discussing anything illegal http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif )

I just last nite set shift+s for raising the seat ,now while in exterior view see the pilot raise up but in cockpit view I myself see no change or Am I doing something wrong....and yes the canopy is open.

You have to change the seat's position, you know, that button that makes your pilot's seat change an inch or two. Then open the cockpit and press the button to elevate your seat.

as said before, you need to press shift-s to exit gunsight mode, before you can raise your seat.

I was just having this same exact same problem... where sometimes the seat would adjust, and then, sometimes it would not. (At first, I thought it was because I just installed the 4.02 update) So, I did a search here and found this post. Here is what I found that was "my" problem. It did not matter about which "VIEW" key was used... such as; my DELETE key, OR my END key, or my PAGE DOWN key. Those did not have any affect on my seat adjustment. HOWEVER, what did affect it was the "SHIFT F1" toggle gunsight key. That will cause it to work or not work, so the next time you find that your seat adjustment does not work, hit the "SHIFT F1" toggle gunsight key, then select your seat adjustment key (That you assigned) and see if your seat will raise up. OH, don't forget to open your canopy too, ya don't want to hurt your neck.

Just to repeat, conditions that must be met for seat height to be adjustable:

1. You're in an aircraft that has the feature (only 4 types IIRC)

2. The cockpit is open

3. You're not going too fast

4. You're not hunched over the gunsight!!!! Shift-F1 is the default control for "Toggle Gunsight" It varies the pilot posture between a comfortable cruise seating position and a "crouched over the gunsight" fighting position. When you're crouched over the gunsight your virtual pilot can't reach the seat height lever http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
