Now after hooking it up comes the questions.
How many reflective dots to use and which device is best,'cap..mic...forehead etc.
Are there better settings than the default ones, did notice the device seems very sensitive to any head movement.
Though all in all theres no doubt in my mind once I've gotten used to this rig it'll be pure love. One other thing is reading the posts I guess PF does not at this time support the 6DOF think theres any chance of this changing in the future?

I sent him a lovely letter detailing how I had been such a good boy all year, but the fat b*****d missed my chimney. Either that or he couldn't land his sleigh on my roof. Bet I could, well, may be after Oleg models one for me to test first...

If you are finding it over sensitive, you need to create a deadzone for targeting.

Enable the software and go to the Motion tab. Ensure you select custom from the dropdown. Make sure the piece of chain is "linked".
If the "group edit points" is checked, uncheck it. Now, you should also see 2 sliders. One for speed, one for edit point.

I will give you my settings and you can set to taste from there. If you click the plus sign next to edit point slider it will go from 0 to 2, then 5, 10,20,30,40 and lastly 50.

You want to make a dead area in the center of the Y and X axis. So, move the speed slider to 0 for edit point zero, then go to edit point 2 and move the speed to zero. Here are the rest of my settings:

edit point----------speed
0-----------------0
2-----------------0
5-----------------0
10----------------1
20----------------4
30----------------9
40----------------15
50----------------20

Good luck!

Read my sig for reflective ideas.
Other than that once you get a profile that works for you, there will be no turning back. I keep reading post that if you download the latest drivers and then use the stock IL2 profile included in the drivers, it will work great.

Thank you, these tips and recomendations are going to be a great help as a starting point to us that are new to the ways of TrackIR.

Santa gave me a TrackIR 3 Pro as well... but with only 2 degrees of freedom! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I sure hope someone gets the ball rolling on this for FB/PF... what a waste of potential.

We need a "dead horse" icon. I'd be flogging the stinkin bizatch till the cows come home (dead as well). http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

T_o_a_d,

You're right about that stock IL2 profile, it is very nice. Flew for about a half hour tonight and already my SA is way up. I'll never be the same.

quick question??? when you say the stock profiles that come with the software patch, I have the 3.13 software and the only stock profile I see is for IL2/FB/ACES nothing for Pacific Fighters. Is this the one you guys use that you like? It is incredibly fast for me I cant track anything at that speed. I am having a hell of a time getting this thing dialed in, I get a headache and my eyes are killing me. I now have my settings very low(0,0,0,0,1,3,7,10) and it is a little better, maybe I am just not used to it enough I find myself fighting it.

What's up Fellas? I've had the Track IR3 Pro for some time now. I gotta say that when I first got it, I actually packed it up and was going to send it back. I gave it another shot an couldn't go without it now. It's like child's play without the Track IR. Here is a good profile and some tips. Load the default profile for IL2 and set settings to this. { Keeping them Linked }

Speed 9
Edit Point 0
Smoothing 54

1. Make sure your camera is HEAD LEVEL

2. I use a hat with 1 reflective square

3. When you first begin, angle your head a
little downward and hit F12 to center it.
This sets it so that you see more out of the window instead of instruments. Also, it makes looking up easier. You'll see.

4. Instead of turning your head to look around, lean to the left or right and sit up tall to view upward. Turn your head only slightly to make up the difference. Your head should never turn more than 20 degrees in any direction.

5. Practice in Free Mission with no targets for a while and pick out ground objects like trees. Try to manuever while keeping your eyes on target.

6. Always pull the plane to your head not your head to the plane.

7. THE LEAN IS THE KEY.......TRUST ME!

~S~

I got one for Xmas too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Had to buy it for myself as my wife doesnt see the beauty or necessity of such an item. It was love at first sight and now that Im starting to get it dialed in, WOW! I flew a game today without it and it was like trying to fly using the keyboard instead of a flight stick. I wonder if my dependancy on it after only a couple days is a good or bad thing?

Personally I like to have it really sensitive so I dont have to turn my head much. Ive also found that I move my head a great deal during combat situations. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif You learn to sit more steady and assign "centre" to your stick.

I took my rig over to dads yesterday and showed it to my Brother Inlaw, and now I have it all in shambles. When I put it back together I'll try the latest drivers too with my TIRpro3.

Oh my sister says there is a warrent for me now cause when they get back to florida My Brother inlaw is going to break the bank ang get all this stuff for flying, http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif serves her right http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

kevinenglish72 Spot on! short the leaning part. I had to do that with mouse immulation but not enhanced mode.
