Hey guys i've just serfed in the net and suddenly i got this:

http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/946/q21fq0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

What is this patch that makes the blood in the cockpit and the pilot leaning forward after being killed?And where i can find it?
Cause now in my game even if someones pilot is being killed there's nothing in the cockpit,no blood and the pilot is staying like he's alive.
Please give a link wher i can find it.
Thx.

That's no patch, All you have to do is change Blood=0 to Blood=1 in one of the Cfg files ( I don't know which one).

However the effect only works in a couple planes, The HE-111, The Bf-109, and several of the other planes that were in the original IL-2.

In the confi.ini in your il2 directory look for the game section in the ini file and make sure HighGore=1

Highgore should already be there, but it will be set to 0.

It only affects a few aircraft, I've never heard of the Blood= ini setting, highgore is what you want.

In your configuration file scroll down and where you find game as below, set HighGore=0 to HighGore=1

[game]
Arcade=0
HighGore=1
mapPadX=0.6695312
mapPadY=-0.045833334
viewSet=38
Intro=0
NoSubTitles=1
NoChatter=0
NoHudLog=1
NoLensFlare=1
iconTypes=3
eventlog=eventlog.lst
eventlogkeep=0
3dgunners=1

I believe this was disabled at some point in the patching process, I've never seen blood and I always set highgore=1.

It does NOT work in all aircraft. ONLY in very few. Just because you may hit a 109, and probably a particular type of 109 does not mean that the pilot is hit and that the pilot will be slumped over in the pit. The Il2 gunners also slump over when "killed" as well. I am not sure which aircraft are affected by HighGore=1.

Hi all,

The blood used to be visible until about 3 years ago when it was stopped I believe for the 'rating' of the game.(Censorship).

As I remember,it was only available for the He 111,the Me 109 and a Russian AI floatplane who's name escapes me. Also,the dorsal gunner in the floatplane would slump over the side of the fuselage when hit http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif.

Best Regards,

Gawd! I remember being 8yrs old and watching John Wayne in Flying Tigers. The Japanese Pilots would spit blood and spatter. I thought it was cool. (in the context of a movie and entertainment) I can't believe IL2 gore would be any more detrimental than that.

I always thought it was an overdone effect and something that would become very boring after a while. Just because a pilot or gunner has been hit by one or more bullets doesn't mean that the entire cockpit is necessarily going to be sprayed with blood.

So, when we the audience get bored with the same old, same old - then they'll be more demands - we want venous blood, not arterial. we want vomit, faeces, heads blown off....and suddenly we're an FPS and not a flight sim. It's a slippery slope.

I'd rather see the necessary effort put into a AI flight-model - I don't really care if the dumb wingy spouts blood or Coca-cola after he's flown into me!

it make much more sense for a WWI flight sim since open-cockpit were all there was and combats were very much "up-close and personal"

Good point, but is making independant suspension for vehicles any different? (ala BoB:WoV when it's released) I see what you're saying, and didn't consider it like that re: air quake, but CPU cycles are CPU cycles. Wasting them on blood or suspensions makes no difference.

Just having gunners or pilots slumped over would have been nice in the IL2 series.
