Get the armour and then buy it from the Monteriggioni blacksmith. Make sure to upgrade the shop because the sword is very pricey and you can get a discount.

you don't need the armor to buy the sword, I got the sword before I unlocked the armor. However I don't know exactly when you can buy the sword it's definetly after sequence 9 or 10.

What matters the difference. At seqeunce 10 you get about 10k per 20 minutes form the villa chest. If you dont you are pretty dumb. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I mean at that point of the game I had about 200k to spend at nothing.

I have 700,000k and nothing to spend it on lol

Yeah I don't know exactly when the sword unlocked but I got it about the same time I got the armor. Of course I put the story mode aside when ever a tomb appeared cause I wanted that armor badly.

His point is that there is no reason to call players who are less comfortable or familiar with the game dumb for simply not playing the game the same way that you have. For example, I was making 11,000 florins/20 minutes before the end of sequence 5. Does that entitle me to call you stupid or other derogatory adjectives?

If you're going to insult others for something as trivial as this, I shall do the same: LERN 2 TIPE INGLISH CORECTLEE BEECUZ WERE ALL SIK OF YUR FAIL AT FORMING INTELIJIBLE SENTINSES. In some of your posts it's actually quite impossible to understand your meaning.

Hey people I just thought I'd say that I got the sword from the blacksmith in the villa around about sequence 9 or 10 like the other person said. You definitely DO NOT need Altair's armor before the sword I bought it for 42500f before the armor which I unlocked a mission afterwards... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The sword should have been the prize you get for collecting 50 feathers and presented to you by Mario. Does it make any sense that for 50 feathers you would get a hammer yet somehow a merchant has gotten ahold of your ancestors sword and wants about 40k for it?

Well, in fact, Alta´r doesn't have to be an ancestor of Ezio, though he must be of Desmond. Also, even with the feathers he still wants payment for the hammer.

It is stated that Altair is an ancestor of Ezio.

Yeah... Mario mentions it when talking to Ezio about the Codex (IIRC)

Wholeheartedly seconded!

To get your ancestor's armour you have to go through this whole big quest involving delving into half a dozen different tombs in order to collect the six seals that lie therein to unlock the gate behind which lies this amazingly light, strong and resilient suit of armour.

By contrast, in order to obtain the best weapon in the game you just play through the game long enough and your friendly neighbourhood blacksmith just happens to have it for sale at what is, by that point, an easily affordable price!

What a stroke of genius!

Personally, if you were going to go with Altair's sword being the weapon you get from collecting the feathers I'd have it as the reward for collecting all 100, with the Auditore Cape as the reward for 50.

That way you have a reason to collect all 100 feathers each time you play the game, as the cape is only really useful for getting the Show Your Colors achievement from my point of view (as an Xbox player).

I TOTALLY agree with that. Would have made much more sense and have a bigger impact in my opinion.

Well, we KNOW that Altair was an ancestor of Ezio. If you went through the Auditore family crypt.

Okay, I just found pretty much the earliest point where Altair's Sword is available. Playing through the start of Sequence 9 (Carnevale), I took the Codex page I got after the flying machine assassination to Leonardo for translation (the one with the pistol). Immediately after practicing with the pistol I took a trip to the Villa, and there it was, available at the Blacksmith in Monteriggioni for the sum of 42,500 florins - that's with the maximum discount, so full price would be 50,000 florins.

It's definitely not available during Sequence 8, and I would assume you can get it right at the start of Sequence 9, but it's pretty much six/half-a-dozen whether you do it before or after getting the pistol - unless, of course, you get in a hell of a lot of fights going to see Leonardo!

Remember that Altair is on the DNA of Ezio like all ancesters from you. If altair is not a ancester of Ezio, then it wont make sense to have Ezio as principal character. All is on the DNA http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
