Just had a message from my squadmate Tettie. It is the worst news imaginable and I will post it here for messages of support.I will post the message in full.

'last sunday my 6 months old daugther died due to a heamorrage in her brains. It was over very quickly. Saturday between 12 and 12.30 she suffered the infarct. Sunday evening at 17.30 she was declared dead. Life sucks atm... Thankfully we were able to make two other sets of parents happy. Her heart and liver will live on...Two five months old babies in Germany will at least have a life.

We are devastated.'

My squadmates from 40commando (Battleground Europe) have set up this message:
Quote:
Yesterday, on behalf of 40 Comm I arranged for flowers to be sent to Guido (Tettie) and Bregje in remembrance of their daughter Lieve.

If people would like to contribute to the cost of the flowers, instead of giving me the money I would prefer any contributions to go to a children's charity.

Guido's suggested 'Friends of the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital'. They raise funds for non-medical related things like clowns, toys, theatre, schooling, etc. Seems an excellent choice to me.

Their website is -

http://www.umcutrecht.nl/overumcutrecht/samenwerkingen/Vrienden+van+he t+WKZ.htm

With a link for donations towards the bottom right of the page here.

http://www.vriendenwkz.nl/overdevriendenwkz/default.htm

Instructions are available in English at the bottom of the donation page.

Many thanks,

Kevin

Tettie, considering the abyss you are in I can only offer the hope that one day you will be able to look forward again whilst remembering your beloved daughter.

Be strong.

Disasters like these are something that all parents are deeply scared of. Unbelievable disaster, beyond words. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif The future just crashes and disappears. Wounds like this never heal, only on the surface. In the deep, they last a lifetime. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I just don't have the words.
All I can say is that I feel deeply for your loss. One should NEVER have to endure this kind of pain.

This is the saddest thing i've heard on these forums. Any words i can give to him are pointless but i can't imagine how he and his wife/family are feeling. I'm sorry that they have been made to endure this cruel twist of fate. So sad. I hope they can look forward to their futures again, with the memory of their bright spark still alive and strong and keeping them going.

My Mum passed away because of a brain haemmorhage 4.5 years ago now. I remember it like yesterday. I wasnt there, but was told it was very sudden and a coma happens instantly, which is some comfort. I can't imagine such a terrible thing happening to an innocent young baby. Why do these things happen?!

As the father of a 14 month old I can imagine how bad this must feel...but then again I cant really...I hope that while time wont heal this pain it may numb it a little eventually.Sincere sympathy from all at JG5.

Since I have no children I can not even feel a fraction of what this must be like.

Please accept my deepest condolences and my best
wishes for the time to come.

If you are religious, maybe you find some comfort in that you will see her again.

We had a close family fried who also died
this way. He was discovered lying in living room
after a few days.

I am speechless....
