How about a competition of the best video clips from the game..I have some nice video clips I made of some of my missions and some of my kills http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif...If there is such a competition one must just make sure the video clips arent too big..make them like say 1mb max..what do u guys think?

Early versions of Fraps are freeware. Maybe someone could tell how to keep up performance in game when capturing video? Usually framerate drops quite a amount when starting capturing.

How about Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org/) and DivX (or Xvid)?

If I make a 1mb video clip its about 8-10 secs long but it would be nice to make longer videos..lol..I have some videos that are like 15mb and are much longer but I dont think they would allow us to use those..lol..I'm not sure what the specs are for the 1mb videos http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif..but like I said they are about 8 -10 secs long..and fairly good quality.

I use a program called Fraps to make videos of my games and then I use Virtual dub to compress them (without compression a 20sec video can be up to 1,5 GB in size http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif)..I got those programs a while back as a b/day gift from one of my buddies, but I don't think they are freeware..sorry http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
But i'm sure there are also other programs one could use.

With specs I meant the resolution and the codec you used to compress them (and the length).

Virtuall Dub is open source! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"b/day gift from one of my buddies"

Hey, I just had to make it sentimental http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
I got it from a buddy but it wasnt my b/day...lol..he burnt it onto cd for me.

I think the resolution is 800x600 after compression, but before compression its 1024x768
I think ..but i'm not sure http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gifI compress the video as divx codec format...hope that helps
