Many of us old timers here remember a guy named dreyer who was a good 109 pilot and had a site with many many great 109 tracks he recorded from a personal challenge he was doing to beat an old ww2 pilot, I was wondering if anyone has his tracks somewere and if they would be able to send them to me or post them somehow, thanks.

p.s. Im not interested in what you think about his challenge wether he cheated or not or any other garbage like that, just in his tracks.

I would like to see some of his tracks too, seems interesting...I did some research but can't get to his site: maybe it doesn't exist anymore http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

in one post, he was asking the same question himself maybe 1 year ago, look it up and PM those who have it

however, be warned he was flying a pre 4.xx version and as such, the value of the old tracks were diminishing

nevertheless, it was a very interesting sequence of how many? 250+ tracks online without being killed http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Did this guy take up some other hobby or something? Seems to me if he was that good he wouldn't just disappear. Maybe the FMs changed enough after a time and he was no longer able to do all that good. It does seem to me that the 109s
were pretty dominant ( except G-6, which was even worse in those days ) and it's only competition came from the LA-5FN. And the G2 could deal with that one with it's better climb and by staying up high where the FN couldn't do so hot.

He WAS that good but just sort of lost interest as you do when you master something.

I remember one of the last posts on his site, something like..

'I havent been flying much lately, been doing other things and sort of lost interest. Air combat is just a slightly more complex version of paper-stone-scissors anyway'

He flew before v4.xx patches, very good for sure, but A LOT of things changed since then, nevermind that his tracks are still usefull because of sound tactics...

I have never seen them but Dreyer's website got shut down and afterwards they stole his PC. He himself is looking for his own tracks!

There are some other forummembers who seem to have some of his tracks. I think you have to PM them...

See this thread from January 2007:

No doubt he would be just as good now as he was then, because as Brain said, he used excellent tactics and didnt rely on his planes performance, although he did prefer the fast climbers. The Bf109K4 was his favourite, he also had a few tracks from the Spitfire and Zero.

I never saw a track of him flying a FW190. But maybe I just didnt look too hard.

WHat was as impressive as his flying abilities to me, was his gunnery.

He always, without fail fired cannons in only tiny 1 or 2 shot bursts, 1 shot on its own from the Mk108 in the 109, then after he scored a hit if it was still up (whether he hit with 20mm or 30) he used to never fire again with cannons, and just used machine guns to bring it down.

Very impressive to see a sortie with a mk108 equippied 109K4 bringing down 8 or 9 opponents, on the hardest servers, most from 1 or 2 single shot bursts.

Yes i remember him posting a while back that he himself was looking for his tracks due to a theft of his computer i think, he was a great pilot and di have sound tactics which is what i was looking for in his tracks.

i think his tactics would be still valid, although you will find few new things, he wasn't using some secret, but his execution was incredibly disciplined

2 things struck me in his flying, one was his outstandingSA, he was using the kyepad to look around, and complained that TrackIR is too slow for him!

the other was the audio commentary for his flight with Zero's against P40, and his caution "just because the Zero is a good turner, it doesn't mean you could not use energy advantage against your opponent"

wise words http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
